The first week of February my wife and I will be staying at BCV with in-laws, one of whom is turning 50. Any suggestions or thoughts as to what would make it a special day ?

Thanks in advance

A few ideas:

1. Illuminations Cruise (if you can get a reservation!)
2. Dinner at Victoria & Albert's or California Grille
3. Basket with "50s" - 50 Disney Dollars, 50 roses, 50 chocolate kisses, $50 gift certficates, etc.
4. Character Breakfast, and let them sing happy birthday!
5. Special "presentation" from gifts of a lifetime. Their website is
http://www.giftsofalifetime.com/
6. Order room service wine and a cheese plate, rent a movie and spend a quiet evening enjoying the resort.

Hope you have a wonderful time, and happy birthday!

Before we left for our vacation, I wrote a letter (that I brought with me) telling the CM that it was my DH's 50th birthday during our stay. I asked them if they could do any "Disney Magic" for him. I also told them that we had reservations for the Hoop de Doo review on his birthday. I discretely gave the letter to a CM upon arrival. Our room was not ready, so we went to the park. When we returned, they delivered a autographed picture of Chip and Dale attached to a happy birthday balloon. They also sang happy birthday to him at the Hoop de Doo.

I also ordered a T-shirt before we left that said, "I may be 50 today, but I'm still younger than Mickey!" Everyone stopped him to remark and laugh. The back of it said, "My wife and kids made me wear this shirt". He was mortified. . . It was great fun!
