BCV balconies

I notice quite a difference in the balconies from the BCV exterior pictures. Some rooms dont seem to have one at all- just a plain window. What kind of rooms are these? Does anyone have comments about the types and set ups?

I haven't stayed at the BCV yet, but I know when we stayed in a 1 BR at VWL, the bedroom did not have a balcony, only the living room.

They do vary greatly. We stayed in a 4th floor studio last July and I was scoping out the different ones from our little baalcony. Ours was tiny, with a small table and 2 chairs. It was physically the same balcony as the room next to us and they had it divided with a wall for privacy. Other rooms also had small balconies but theirs were separate from others. There were some that were HUGE. There was a woman on a 2nd floor room -- maybe in the 30's or 40's -- and hers could have held tons of people. I talked to her about it and she said they even had a SECOND balcony, off the door of the 2nd bedroom. I don't know if any rooms had NO balcony, but I do know the sizes and shapes vary widely! Oh -- another thing. The first floor rooms have small patios with landscaping around them.

I suppose you could request a room with a large balcony if this is important to you.

I believe they made the balconies the way they did in order to acheive a particular design on the outside and make it somewhat similar to the Beach Club. I was really happy to learn there were not standing room only ones like at BC.

They seem to vary quite a bit, with a few that go accross all 3 rooms of a 2 bedroom and some that have 3 seperate balconies of a 2 bedroom. There are a few spots where there is no balcony, but that would be either the 2nd bedroom of a 2 bedroom or the master bedroom of a 1 bedroom. I don't believe there are any villas where you would not get a balcony at all.

Second floor seems to be the winner in the balcony department- they all appeared to be huge. We were on the 3rd floor and had 2 designated 2BR units - 301 and 307. 301 had one slightly larger balcony off the LR and none in the BR's. 307 had one in the LR and one in the MBR, none in the 2nd BR. As Terry states, it's all about the design of the building and what fits in- someday I'm going to try and make an outside plan of it!

We were in #242, dedicated 2 Bdrm in November & our balcony was huge........we could have partied on it!! The balcony went the full length of our unit & then some, w/doors from living room & both bedrooms, 3 tables & 6 chairs; plus, we could watch Illuminations from it. We're spoiled now.

Now I'm nervous. We have our first trip to BCV coming up in 5 weeks. Had requested at the 11 month reservation window 5th floor, view of Epcot (1 BR unit). Are some of the 1 BR's up there not going to have a balcony off the master? With a 4 y/o DD, we sometimes end up in the room earlier because she's pooped and DH and I enjoy our balcony time. I don't want to be going in and out a door right next to where she's sleeping! Any info would be appreciated!

I also requested 5th floor view-I didn't realize you could see Illuminations from the 2nd floor. Can anyone confirm? Can you see the Big Ball from 2nd floor? I might change my request.

When we stayed in a 1 bedroom we had the corner room, right around from the elevator. We were on the 2nd floor (room 266 or 226??) facing the parking lot and canal. Our balcony was HUGE! It was a triangle shape with a divider between our room and the one next to it -- kind of like a picket fence. If there had been people there, we would have easily been able to converse with them - that could be a drawback to some. There was also a portion of the balcony by the bedroom which had it's own exit. This area was about the same size as most of the other balconys around.

We had 5th floor Epcot view last month, room 546.
It's a 1BR lockoff, and it has a full length balcony that extended from the living room across to the master bedroom, accessible from either room.
It has a spectacular direct view of Spaceship Earth! But you had to get up to the railing to see Illuminations fireworks to the right.

I can report on 4 rooms.

469...lock-off studio: beautiful view of Spaceship Earth, nice sized balcony. Good view of top of Illuminations, too.

525...view of the wetlands, smaller enclosed balcony. Great view of top of Illuminations I was told.

430...one bedroom lock-off. Tiny balcony (but better than the standing ones at BC that Terry alluded to) off living room, no balcony off master. Quiet pool, accessible room.

428...studio lock-off to 430. Same type of small balcony as 430.
