I've never rented points before so please bear with me.

We are going to be WDW from April 8-17th. My DH has a conference begining the 14th at GF, we have a great rate at GF for the entire time but we would love to spend the 1st part of the week 8-13 at a BC studio if it comes close to the price of our stay at GF. Is it too late?

I checked the WDW website and it looks like studios are available.

TIA!

Hi neighbor!!

I live in Scranton. But just to give you a heads up. I was checking for a Beach Club Studio for the 3 weeks 4/17, 4/24, & 5/1 and Member Services had no Studios available for Vacation Club members.

Only availability for a studio was OKW or SS. Not sure about the week your are requesting but it seemed April was booked solid at BC & BWV per member Services.

I checked the WDW website and it looks like I can book through CRO a studio. Would one have availability and not the other?

TIA!

:) The reason is member inventory vs. rental inventory. A certain # of units are for members and some is never available to members because they have not been sold to members, disney keeps them to rent.

Hm. I wonder when they would "dump" unrented units into the members pool and unreserved units in the rented pool, if you know what I mean.

I'm not sure DVC ever does. I think it's something like 4% of room (inventory) is retained for use by Central Reservations, and I thought there was the possibility of more availability for Central Reservations if rooms are not booked by members by at least 30 days out. I'm not sure about that but ask Doc; I think he has a fairly good understanding of how the system actually works.

I do know that in the past when I've tried to make a ressie and am initially told there isn't availability, the cast member will put me on hold, goes "somewhere" and often returns with a room. I never turn down the favor if they can somehow free up a room.

Likewise, when we have tried to get a reservation, we have been told there is no availability and got on the wait list. Even then, we did not get what we needed. So this "availability" is never a sure thing.

DVC dumps their inventory at 60 days out onto CRO. CRO never dumps their inventory on DVC.
