We were staying at the BWV during Charley and we saw the gator being removed (at least thats what we think was going on...). So it sounds likely that there were more than one...........
How big was this one? I keep looking for one in the canal near OKW, because it looks like a perfect place for them, but have never seen one there yet. I know they have to be a certain size before they are removed.
Hi,
Yes, I made the countdown calendar. If you PM your e-mail address, I will send the directions on how I made it. A lot of people asked me about it so I wrote down how I did it.
My wife & I took a tour with a National Park Ranger at Shark Valley (part of the Everglades) about 25 miles west of Miami off Rt 41. The ranger took an alligator count and counted about 260 alligators on our 2 hour tour. While walking the paths you can easily walk right up to alligators. The park ranger said in the last 20 years there has only been one person bitten by the alligators and that was after the person tripped and fell on the alligator. apparently they aren't usually a "real" hazard unless provoked, startled or fed by humans.
