BCV 7-month booking success

I was able to book a 2BR BCV for April 17th,18th,19th.

Seems like all those negative reports are working!

More likely, whatever you've read about it being difficult to book at 7 months was...greatly exaggerated.

In all fairness, with Easter being in March next year, late-April is reportedly one of the slower DVC seasons.

I got a BWV standard view 1 bedroom for April 21-25 this year at the 7 month mark. I don't think the end of April/beginning of May is a real popular time.

Week of April 17th western NY and I believe MA has off, and the following week NYC/NJ schools have off. Neither have an Easter break. So it will be definitely busier than previous years.

Hey DebbieB,

There's no way you could have gotten what you said already. You can't even book at the 7 month window just yet for April 21st.

I've only been able to book a 1bd at BWV for April 16, 17, 18, & 19 so far. Can't book any farther out at this time. Tomorrow I will book the 19th, then the next day for the 20th and so on...

Are your dates right?

I live in NJ and we have an Easter Break the last week in March!

to try to switch BCV (studio) for BWV for April 18,19,20 (out 21)..
I'm going to try for a standard view, but it really doesn't matter, since BCV points are the same for preferred. Just a heads up if anyone wants to switch to BC. By the way, we own at BCV and am not switching based on negative reviews. Just that, since this trip will just be me and DH, I think it would be a good excuse to try BWV - no biggie if I can't make the switch.

Massachusetts traditional spring break is the week after Easter. This year it will be March 28-April 1.
We booked BCV for the week of 4/2-9 at the 7 month window because BWV was filled at the 7 month window.
There's always something available at the window.

I was able to switch OKW 1 bedroom for April 16-21st to the BCV, same accomodations, same dates, just today, no problems at all. First time ever trying anything other than "home", very excited! I had made the ressies at OKW just to be safe...and other than more points *groan*, it was painless!

I only had the nights of April 3 and 4 booked in a 2 br/2queen with a small BCV addon and was able to switch the 5, 6, and 7 over to BCV from OKW at 7 months. I was even able to get the 2 queens so I felt really lucky.

We have booked many times at way less than 7 mo. out and never had a problem. I booked Dec. 17-24th approx. 30 days ago for a 2 br and I could have chosen SSR, OKW, and they even had a few at BWV.

I seem to get the impression if you are not real particular to where you stay it is not so much an issue. Although the time I really want something it may be!! Like a GV!

It kind of pushes us into trying new resorts, the problem I seem to have is I love them all!!

NOPE!!

Massachusetts public school break includes the Patriots Day Monday holiday every year (Boston Marathon day too). For 2005 those days are the 18th to 22nd as stated above.

Private schools in the Independent league in MA have the weeks of March 14th and 21st for the most part.

THat's our break time too. I was going to book for vacation time in April but opted for June, as soon as school gets out.

Massachusetts (and Maine) Spring Break is always the week of Patriot's Day, the third week in April. Same time as the Boston Marathon. A few school districts that I know of have experimented with March breaks, but reverted back to the traditional Feb and April vacations. It's good to plan an April trip to WDW when Easter falls in March, like this year.
