You will find there to be sandy areas, as well as 'hard surface' areas. The bottom can be sandy as well. Most seem to enjoy SAB a lot.
And yes, it can get very crowded...it is a popular pool which is why you need to show 'proof of residency' so to speak...room key to YC/BC is needed to get in.
