Which would you choose??? I'm torn! I haven't been to WDW in like 7 years...so I really don't know. The last time I was there, I was in CBR.

From what I can see: WL is close to MK, BC/BWI is close to DHS/Epcot.

The Boardwalk area (BC/BWI) has the nightlife..but I feel like that can be a drawback due to the crazy action and noise. But BC is across from the Boardwalk on the OTHER side of the water right?

WL feels dark, dim, and rustic. I think I'm more into the whole white clean cotton and cozy.

I'm going to be there with my girlfriend for her birthday, and we're gonna have a romantic week in July. I'm probably going to propose too. So I want it to be special. I'm looking for a deluxe resort, but can't afford Poly or GF. Contempo looks too office-building and metallic to be cozy and romantic. AKL is way too far from everything else and has that dark/dim thing that I have against WL.

Thanks!

Haven't we already been through this? :rotfl:

BWI. Done. ;)

Tara, Tara, Tara...lol. Thanks! Yes..we have. So this is what I'm thinking:

I like the crisp, white, clean Boardwalk area. And the nightlife is incredible. Even though I was sort of planning on hitting DTD the night we arrive. Maybe we'll just go dinner and hopping down the Boardwalk restaurants/bars instead...I mean I just cancelled my reservation for Planet Hollywood in DTD. I wanna go to TS restaurants that aren't umm...mainstream. So off I go to cancel Rainforest Cafe in AK lol.

Now...for my girlfriend's quiet and romantic birthday: Il Mulino in Swan! It has the exact things I want: Quiet (hopefully), romantic, ideal menu options, and it's close to Boardwalk and Epcot where I'm hoping we'll be that day.

But...If I wanna make it to see Illuminations at Epcot, what time should I make dinner reservations for at Swan?

I would highly recommend the Boardwalk Inn because of their theme/atmosohere. Plus the night life is never been loud and each time I stayed there it was with the Boardwalk view.

She will say YES! I know you want it to be special, but really stop stressing. I will give my vote to BW. I think its the best choice. Have you thought about a romantic dinner. What about Victorias and Alberts, and then maybe propose on the GF beach? Just a thought.:lovestruc:cloud9:

Depends on whether or not you care if you have a particularly good spot to view Illuminations. I think you want to allow 2 hours for dinner, minimum. Allow 20 minutes of wiggle room in case you aren't seated at your reservation time. Allow 20 minutes to walk to the Epcot International Gateway. Allow another 20 minutes for bag check, turnstiles and finding a spot. So that means you need to book 6pm.

Or maybe I'm just being overly cautious.

Make your reservations around 7 PM and you should be fine. The walk from the Swan to EPCOT is at the most 15 minutes. It would be a nice romantic stroll along the Boardwalk as well.

As for where to stay, sounds like you have your mind made up already on BWI. I agree, it does have a bit more mature feel to it, just understand that you're going to be at WDW, kids are everywhere (some of the old kind as well!).

However, don't discount my beloved BC! The walk to the Boardwalk from the BC is about 5 minutes, not that far at all!

From experience, I would have to say, IMHO, unquestionably, The Beach Club Resort - with the possible exception of The Yacht Club Resort.
However, I would highly recommend, before, during, and after your reservations are (being) made; and - of course - if you are sure you are going to propose - I would absolutely make sure and tell them that ! I can assure you that - after 30+ years of seeing "Disney Magic" performed, first-hand - I can tell you that they will do everything in their power to make this as wonderful a stay as they can for you.... :wizard:

P.S.: If you have any intentions of spending time at the "pool", then absolutely becomes a no-brainer...!
