Hello, I'm new to the discussion boards, so I hope I'm posting this question in the correct place? I booked a Disney Cruise Land/Sea package, and my hotel choices are limited for the deluxe hotel options. I'm torn between BC, Poly, and AKL. Has anyone stayed at all 3? I will be traveling with my husband and young teenagers. So far, the AKL looks like the best fit, but I keep reading negative reviews about treatment by CM's. Does anyone have any good advice or experience with these hotels??

**I have stayed at the Swan and Dolphin, WL, and CB. I love them all, but WL is my favorite.

AKL - have never had bad treatment by CMs, actually the opposite. I think after just cruising, the AKL would be something very different and enjoyable. Beautiful hotel with so much to do, BOMA is a great dinner experience.

Been to BC several times to visit with family/friends. SAB is awesome and would be the major draw to me besides great location to EPCOT & MGM.

POLY we have eaten and walked all around and I was disappointed. Have no desire to stay there anymore.

are you going to the parks?

if yes - then Polyn - easy access to MK and Epcot thru the monrail.

If no - then AKL - you can still see some animals or BC - SALB is a good enough attraction in itself for most kids.

BC also has easy access to EPcot and studios.

We stayed at AKL after a 7 day DCL cruise in 2003. Knowing I was headed there, I was almost happy to get off the ship :teeth: It is a hotel like nothing you will see anywhere else. We are staying at VWL and BC this summer, but my DH wants to stay at AKL again. I will definitely stay again after I've stayed at BC, WL and Poly. I think it would be a good choice, and welcome to the boards!

Thank you for the info. This is a really cool discussion forum! I'll probably stay at AKL due to the animals. It truly is a gorgeous resort.

I've been to Poly and AKL...but the key words you used were TEENAGERS...

If my children were teenagers I would DEFINITELY stay at the Beach Club...the Pool is BEYOND cool and you're soo close to lots of fun boardwalk events...Beaches & Cream...lots of cool places to be a teen and people watch...I would only choose Poly over AKL if my children were all under age 10 and we spent 75% of our time at MK (which mine are and we do)...AKL was nice for a visit...but the convenience of the monorail beats it out for the Poly.

Have a great trip!

And don't worry about the CM's at any of the WDW resorts. I have had my issues with some things at a particular resort, but regardless of where you stay, the WDW CM's are first class! And for the record, AKL!!

We stayed at the BC last year with our Land and Sea cruise. We loved it, Pool was the best and the ice cream was also the best and rooms were very nice.
This year we are going on the Land and Sea cruise again but are going to try and AKL because my best friend and her family went with us last year and they stayed at the AKL and Loved it. (Not that I didn't love the BC) Plus the fact after knowing we are going to be around a lot of beaches from going on the cruise (which is great don't get me wrong) I just think the AKL will be great because it is so different.
Have a GREAT time :wizard:

I totally agree with lmhall2000... go with BC! I think teens would be bored to tears at the AKL... I know when I was young -- waaaaayyyy back when ;) -- the Epcot resort area would have been my favorite. Stormalong Bay is great, there are tons of places to walk around, lots of food and snack options, shops, hair wrapping stations, games, arcades, carnival type games, you can walk to Epcot, take the boat to MGM, it's just a much more active and fun area in my opinion. :)

Thank you for all your comments :flower: . My kids are so upset that I would think of staying anywhere else other than AKL even after all the input from you. We visited AKL last year for dinner, and tried to book a room after seeing the hotel, but they were full. We ended up at WL which was better than imagined. My kids are younger teens and young at heart, so I think they would still enjoy AKL. My husband doesn't care either way.

On the other hand the older of my two- would really enjoy BC from what I learned from your input. I was confused, because I think we would enjoy being closer to Epcot and MGM studios. We live on the West Coast, so we don't spend much time at Magic Kingdom. We are big Disneyland fans. We would probably only visit Animal Kingdom once during our trip.

We have a awhile to make up our minds- I'll just keep reading all the awesome tips provided on the boards and take it from there. I think anywhere we stay will be a fun experience. Thanks again!

Welcome to the boards. I am new too, so I think I can welcome you... lol.
I am not all to fond of the polly, just seems a bit old for me. I would choose the AKL, but that is my opinion. The BC seems good too. I think that you are good anywhere.
Cheak out the link in my signature-very cool. Long live the banana!

Price being equal on all three, I would chose BC for the pool and location. I agree with others, your teenagers would have so many options there. I've stayed at all three - we loved AKL but we can't get over the value we got there - last summer, a deluxe resort, pool view for $119/night. The resort was awesome - but if you're going to alot of parks, location might be a factor for you here. Then again, the Poly on the monorail, also a great pool! All I can say is I'm glad I'm not having to make this decision!! Good luck - you can't go wrong!
