BC or BW? Likes, dislikes?

We currently have our vacation booked at the treehouses but with 2 kids under 4y, we are looking to move our reservation at the 7 month mark. We want to be "close" to at least 1 park. That gives us BLT, BC or BW.

If it helps, we will be booking a 2 BR in any of those options. We have stayed at BLT before. Have no problem staying there again.

However, my husband and I would like a change and are looking at BW or BC. Taking SAB out of the equation, which 2 BR location do you like better - BC or BW? I really can't decide.

My decision will be made for me if nothing is available though :)

Thanks!

I like both. I own at BWV, but love the parking situation at the BCV. I'm not a fan of the self parking at the BWV. I like that BWV is an easy walk to the Studios and that BWV has a community center esp. when the weather is icky. I believe ALL 2 bedrooms at the BWV are lock off and they don't have any dedicated. I like the dedicated 2 bedrooms at the BCV because we really don't need that kitchenette (keep in mind that 2 bedrooms at the BCV can be 2 choices -- 1 has 2 Q beds and the other has 1 Q with a sofa bed -- but both are dedicated.) And they have a lock off 2 bedroom too. We seldom use SAB and just enjoy the quiet pools at both of the resorts. You really can't go wrong with either of them. Each has their own greatness about them.

As a brand new owner at BC who is hoping to get his points in a few weeks and get a reservation for the fall, I highly recommend BWV!

In all seriousness, we have two kids, 5 and 2.5. I know you said to take SAB out of the equation, but that's hard to do--that's one of the reasons we LOVE the BC and bought there.
I also think it's a little closer to Epcot. The Villa building, if you go out the back, is REALLY close to Epcot, with kids that's really nice. While we like Hollywood Studios (and BWV is a closer walk to HWS), we only go once whereas we use hopper passes and end up at Epcot nearly ever night for dinner/fireworks and just to walk around.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom last november at BC, it was one of the units with 1 queen and the pullout in the 2nd BR, and it was really nice. We also liked the proximity to the Villa pool, and often would take a dip at night.

n2mm has made some good observations, and I agree you can't really go wrong with either.

I would add the consideration of the Boardwalk itself. Some great entertainment and performers, lively atmosphere.

Thank you, everyone, for your input. If I kept SAB in the equation, I would go with BC, hands down. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything by ruling out BW before calling.

Good to know about the dedicated/lock-off room types at both. We had a dedicated 2 BR at BLT and that would be nice because the kids will be in that room and I would rather that they didn't have their own door!

I haven't stayed at BC, But we love, love, love BWV. It's classy but not stuffy, the location is wonderful and the Boardwalk entertainers at night are greatl. I own at OKW, AKV and BLT but BWV has become my favorite resort

Jonell - can you recommend BWV rooms/views you've stayed in? We're there in May in a 2BR w/preferred view. We normally stay at BCV (and we love it) but we're so excited to be staying this time at BWV!!

thanks!

Depending on when you are going the decision might be made for you. Certain times at BCV due to size are very hard to get at 7 months.

We stayed at BCV in November and although Epcot has always been my favorite resort it is now my whole family's favorite too. I think it is because it was so easy to walk there and we went multiple days and evenings too! Still with that being said we are going to (hopefully) stay at BWV at our next visit. Our kids really want to try all of the DVC resorts so we have been staying at a different one each year. We only go once a year and so far we have been to 3 resorts since owning DVC. We have a reservation at AKL for November and I will be happy to stay there if we can't get BWV. We have stayed at a dedicated two bedroom every time and love the space. I am sure you will enjoy either resort!

they are both amazing resorts!!!!! and the best part is that they are so close together so you can really enjoy both: if you're at BWV you can still go to Beaches and Cream and enjoy the movie on the beach. If you're at BC you can go enjoy the keister coaster/pool and the amazing night lift of BW.....plus the great center lawn area where all the kids play in the evenings.

You cant go wrong with either!

We have stayed and love both....just tried at 7 months to move our 9/28-10/2 reservation...BWV's were fully booked all views on 10/1...but BCV's were available for all our nights so we booked it:goodvibes...as others have posted both are wonderful

Count me as another who loves them both. We slightly prefer the decor at BWV and the location for walking to DHS. We prefer the pool at BC (SAB is awesome, clowns are evil ;) )and the location for walking to Epcot. We prefer the views and the entertainment at BWV, particularly when we can get the boardwalk view.

We bought at BWV, and have not regretted it.

I prefer BWV to BCV, but I consider the two resorts to be the finest and best deals in the DVC system, along with the OKW grand villa.

I don't love SAB. I think it cuts up the resort. When the kids were younger, I couldn't relax while the kids were swimming. Now that they are older I can see letting them go at it by themselves.

I much prefer the restaurants and general "feel" of BW to BC. With that said, the location of BCV is pretty phenomenal. You are literally right at the gate of EPCOT. BWV is only a few hundred yards further, but it does add quite a bit to the walk.

Bottom line is if your kids are 10 or younger, BWV is a much better choice, so you won't worry yourself silly over not being able to monitor them at SAB. Beyond that, I would describe BWV as slightly more adult and sophisticated, but that's not the choice everyone is looking for.

If I were coming tomorrow, I'd pick BWV. If we were coming and my children were bringing a friend or two, I'd pick BCV so they could use SAB. Just my take on things.
