How far is the walk to MGM from BC? IS it better to just wait for the bus? We are pretty active so walking doesn't bother us.

We haven't stayed at the BC or YC yet (first time in a few weeks), but from what I have read on these boards, the walk should take you about 15-20 minutes. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I saw you were leaving soon and I wanted to make sure that you had some info. :p

Yup, the walk takes around 15 - 20 minutes. There is a nice lighted pathway the entire way.

We love walking back after Fantasmic but typically just jump on the boat when going to MGM (no bus to MGM). You can catch the boat to MGM on the lighthouse pier directly behind the YC entrance.

Have a great trip! :bounce:

BC to MGM -

Hi sjreed,
There isn't a bus to MGM (or to Epcot) from any of the Epcot resorts - either walk or take the boat. The boat ride is slow but a nice break if you are not in a hurry. It stops at Swan/Dolphin, then MGM.

Have a most magical trip!!

Bob

You'd have to be moving pretty fast to make it in 15 minutes. 20 minutes is more reasonable.

I once timed myself from MGM to Epcot in 15 minutes, walking as fast as I could. Beach Club is only a little closer; I'd estimate about 1.2 miles. (where is Caskbill with his GPS measurements?)

Thank You everyone!!! We are soooo exicited here....first time at BC and first time on The Wonder!!

I agree with 20 minutes being more realistic. A leisurely stroll from BWV (clown slide) to MGM gate is 12-14 minutes.

I'm not Caskbill, but I always run a bit when I'm at WDW, and I've measured the routes with a GPS (geek), so here goes:

From the entrance to the landing dock at MGM to the spot where the bridge to Swan/Dolphin meets the walkway (behind Jellyrolls) is 0.76 miles. I suspect the entrance to MGM is very close to the same distance.

One loop around cresent lake is 0.80 miles, and I'd guess the distance from the walkway/bridge spot to the Beach Club is about 40% of that, say 0.32 miles.

So by some estimation and some measurement, from the Beach Club to MGM is close to 1.08 miles.

The boat is nice, but slow. The walk is nice (unless it's raining), and often faster.

You can cut some distance from this if you cut through the BWV. Basically, walk though the gap next to the Wylan gallerie store, past the themed pool and pick-up the walkway to the Studio again there.

The problem one faces is "Which way is shorter?"
To go over the bridge next to the Swan, or around the other way to the Boardwalk and cut through BWV as described by OKW Lover? It's pretty close, but I think the Swan bridge is a little closer from the BC lobby. If you're leaving from BCV, it may be a toss-up.
