For those of you who have DDs who have gotten the shoes from BBB, how long did they wear them after the appt? Did you bring other shoes for them to change into? Any blisters/problems? TIA!
My DDs Cinderalla shoes she ditched about as fast as the dress. Last year she got an Ariel costume and chose the flip flop shoes rather than slippers. She wore them all night at MNSSHP without any problems.
my dd picked sparkly shoes they came with tink but I think they may have been snow white....she found them very comfy and wore them the rest of the week. I had crocs on hand but she didn't want them. they were more like a real shoe with sequens then your plastic dress up shoe
We have done BBB twice with dd. The first time she chose Cinderella gown with matching shoes. She kept taking them off because she said they hurt her feet. I even brought socks for her to wear with them and she still took them off. The second time she chose Belle gown with matching shoes and she wore those all day, with socks. It just depends on the way the shoe is made. For this upcoming trip, I will take an extra pair of shoes and extra thick socks for her to wear and let her choose. Just be prepared for anything. Girls are hard to figure out,at least mine is even with me being a girl. HTH.
When we went, DD had her own deluxe Cinderella dress from the Disney Store and was wearing crocs with it since it was down to the floor and you couldn't see them anyway. When she saw other kids with matching shoes, she asked for them and almost cried when she said that she couldn't wear crocs with her dress. I got her the platic cinderella shoes that were solid in the front and a strap across the heel.
During her appointment, the shoes steamed up on the inside. I knew that they would be uncomfortable, but I kept quiet. I think she wore them for all of 5 minutes after leaving the castle. They were just horrible!
This time, I bought both girls "real" shoes from the Disney Store. The look like ballet slippers and have real soles. My little one wore her silver Cinderella shoes to pre-school and didn't have any comfort issues.
When we were leaving CRT, I saw a girl leaving BBB litterally crying and limping because her shoes hurt so bad. Her mom kept yelling at her to hurry up. It was really sad.
We're skipping the dress-up shoes, and she'll just wear a pair of her own sandals. We're also skipping the dresses there, and I'm having a custom dress made for her that is cotton and will be much cooler.
very smart!
my dd did the bbb last aug and she got the flip-flops w/belle costume. she did like the flip-flops...no blisters but we live in flip flops @ the beach. she wanted the dress off but we were heading to the princess tea @ GF and she kept it on for that then wanted to ditch the dress and put on a comfy cool cotton dress (it was August!) and it was a BEAR to get her hair out of all the hairspray and stuff that night before bed!
this year we opted to let her choose a dress in the world of disney and NOT do the BBB! she loves to play dress up so that is our compromise. we go and get pedicure's done before we go on vacation....it is much cheaper and more reasonable! the nail polish she had put on was gone by the next day...it may have melted off b/c it was so hot! LOL!
Overall it was a cute experience but we learned she liked to get treated (but so do I) so we do it together before we go, much more fun for us! and it doesn't eat up too much time on the vacation!
