Is the lowest package at BBB really $50 + tax??? That's waht is says on the Disney website right now. I was considering doing it for my 2 DD in Feb but $100+tax and tip is jsut a little too pricey for me.

I know they would probably love it but it does seem to me that it may be an extra we can do without right now....

Anyway, is that the kind of $$ you have spent or are there other "deals" that may not be advertised well (but that us DISers find out about)

Thanks for your input

It is the lowest price right now. I just booked and 8 yr old for the $56 treament. We borrowed a dress and now will just get her hair, nail, and face done up at BBB. We'll also get her pictures done in the special area since I pre-ordered the CD.

I'm toying with the idea of canceling my DDs appointment. Its a lot of $$$ and she really hates getting her hair brushed - not to mention she freeks out any time I try to put it up. I've heard that they use a lot of bobby pins - I can see her really not liking that. Does anyone know of anywhere else I could get just her nails done???

TIA!
Sarah

If you have the budget I would soooooooooooooooooooo do it. It is a truly magical experience. It is the highlight of our trip and if only I could be five. :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc It is a little over $50. They really pamper those girls big time!! They also get a tiara and Mickey clippie. You can use them later on too. :) The hair lasts two days and you can get pixie dust touch ups for free. You do not need to have the photopass pre purchase or the photo package to take advantage of pics at City Hall. The Rose Garden is also a nice place to have BBB pics done.

The Main Street Barber Shop also has a hair thing. They stick lots of colored goo in your hair and then sprinkle you with confetti. I think it cost about $5. I am not sure if you were able to take advantage of the $200 booking gift card but you can use that for the BBB.

The other thing is my girls are earning their trip. They know that they have to make $50 each to have their makeover. I have been adding a couple bucks to our gift card every few weeks so it does not seem as painful. They have a chart on the fridge that tells them their money progress.

My girls did it last summer, and they LOVED it!! They walked around so proud of their new dos & makeup. They also get to keep a little goody bag of nail polish & maybe eyeshadow (I can't remember the second thing). We still have the nail polish. I'm sure we'll try to do it again in 09. It was a fun experience!!!

I agree if you have it in your budget go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!! My DD7, did the Hannah Montana package in Sept, $150 :scared1: but it was a once in a lifetime experience. She will never do it again, she will be too old when we go back. She loved the attention, and getting her hair and makeup done, even though she did not do a princess, she felt like one. Totally worth every penny. Thank goodness I had the extra money.

Unless your 2 year old is 3 by the time you go, she would not be allowed to do it. there is an age limit of 3.

To be honest - it is well worth the $50 - I have it done for each of my 3 girls when we were there. For the $50, you get their hair done up by the Fairy Godmother-in-training and a great experience. You also get a number of items that if you bought them separately in the store would be about $40 so you are really paying $10 for the hairdo.
Sash
face gems
tiara
Mickey barrette
make-up
nail polish
glitter
lip gloss
When we went you also got a Photopass session - our guy took about 40 minutes taking tons of pictures of my girls. We added it to our Photopass which in turn was put on our CD - I have 95 pictures from that session. And the bset part was watching my girls faces as they were having an experience of a lifetime and hearing people tell them all day how beautiful they were.
Yes- it is pricey but as I said you get a bit out of it.

The Main Street Barbershop does hair but the experience is noway near the same. You just get your hair brushed and confetti thrown in your hair. Not nearly the same.

I would do it again.

I agree with every one who says it is worth it. My two DD (4 &7) did it in September, and it was a wonderful experience. They brought their own costumes, and had hair, nails and makeup done. To watch their faces in the mirrors as they are spun around for the reveal was indescribable. It brough tears to my eyes. All day, every where they went random people stopped an asked if they could take their pictures (other guests). The CMs paid extra special attention to them, and they ate up every bit of the attention. They saved their money to pay for it themselves and we put it onto a giftcard so they could feel grown up and pay for it themselves. Definately would recommend it!
