BBB Coming to DLR?

I wish that the prices were not that high. Any time that my dd gets her hair and makeup or even face painting, then she usually wants to swim and then our money is washed away.
I am sorry that club libby lu is closing because it did seem like a better deal and I am so surprised by its closing because we always seemed to have to wait for a appointment time for hours so they seemed to have good business. My dd loved all of the "Look how cute she is" If the bbb comes then I am going to go broke because I know she will want to do it and its never the same for a 6 year old unless you have the FULL makeover.

I found the following information on MousePlanet and my daughter will be highly disappointed. We are going in late March and she will be turning 5 and has been anxiously awaiting her princess makeover and storytelling day with mom.. :<

Pink Slips for Princesses

First they came for the pirates, now they're cutting back on princesses.

Continuing budget cuts in Disneyland's Entertainment department have reached the Princess Fantasy Faire. The last day for the Royal Coronation and Princess Storytelling shows will be January 4. Displaced AGVA (American Guild of Variety Artists) and Entertainment cast members will be reassigned or laid off. The Princess Fantasy Faire will continue, but solely as a princess meet-and-greet area.

So far, most of the pressure to reduce the park's operational expenses has fallen on the Entertainment department. Management figures that guests are more likely to notice and therefore grumble about shuttered attractions and unbearably-long lines due to under-staffing than about a few missing characters or performances. (Not to mention the higher pay AGVA members earn...) Yet if, as expected, park attendance takes a nose-dive after the first of the year, cutbacks will definitely spread to all divisions.

There is unfortunately a huge difference in price between BBB and PFF.

The least expensive service is stated as being $7.50 for:

COOL DUDE: includes Hair Style, Colored Gels/Sparkles, Mickey Face Stencil: $7.50 (no tax on this service)

Unless that is a typo, I am wondering what the hair style may be like, that is offered? For it cannot possibly be a full up-do. Nor a half up-do either, I would think.

Again, such a large difference in cost between Club Libby Lu, PFF and BBB.
It should not hurt as it were financially in order to make any one happy. Especially a young child, that might not really understand why they may have to go with out something that they see others receiving. No one likes feeling, not even a child, like they are some how not as deserving as others seem to be. Of course in reality, it is not that one does not deserve something nice. But rather, if one's budget is not inclined toward the high end make overs, one should not feel like a bad parent. Because one is not. Just like there is nothing wrong with being on the frugal side.
If a price really does not agree with one, even if one is very well off, then x package still will not be purchased.
Anyway, these are just some of my thoughts. I just do not want to see anybody feel bad just because their last name is not Hilton. Or because one prefers to save money, instead of paying too much for something.

Nicole,

Would your daughter be o.k. with your doing her hair and makeup? Or maybe have the cool dude package, in the event it is something that she will like?
Do you have a nice princess outfit for her now? And will it fit her at the time of your visit? This way, she can already be looking like a princess before you both enter the park. Save the money for the Blue Bayou. ;) :)
There are many nice hair accessories that one can buy on line, or at stores such as Claire's. Also at local drug and sometimes as well department stores.
Also there are many cute glittery stick ons, anyway that is what I call them. They are for the face/body. I don't doubt that you have seen these sorts of things what with having a little girl. I figured why not mention these possibilities. :)
I am all for saving money. It is something that is becoming harder and harder these days.

Thank you for the information. That is just so sad, in my opinion. Regarding possible lay offs. And also cuts backs of course.
That is all that Ca. needs, what with the unemployment rate already being so high. For anyone that is laid off, I hope very much that they will be able to continue to work in their preferred line of work.

I'm actually a bit bummed at the whole thing. First, I liked that CLL was outside the parks. Made a fun night if early closing or something fun to do on blackout dates. Second, BBB is so much more expensive, if it's the same as WDW's. Third, DD liked all the fun dress up and glam stuff at CLL, and I can guarantee BBB won't have it.
