I have a few questions bear with me and HELP if you can!!

BBB apointment @ 11am- for just hair and makeup (they said it would be 20 min.) for my 3 yr old, drive to Poly to check in-hop on monorail or boat right after and have a 2:15pm lunch at CRT. Is this too tight on time?

My daughter (3 1/2) still does not have her "girly" hair yet so it is short and curly- what can they do? I hear about hair extensions but is that extra?

I have two boys (10 and 7) I hear there is some skull/pirate thing they can fill/do while waiting or......there is something the boys can get done? Something about a Mickey head painted on the back of their hair? They would love that, my older one already gets his hockey number bleached in the back of his head during tournaments!! Does anyone know how much $$?

or....there is a barber shop in MK? did I read that right-that will do the Mickey head too?

Thanks for any help you can offer- we can't wait!!!!!!!

$14.00 i'm pretty sure to fill a treasure chest with lots of toys but you must be able to close it.

I'm positive that your boys will love the pirates place at Downtown Disney. I've seen people get wigs for their hair.

Not sure,
Poly

Oh great options for the boys, however a wig? augh my 3 yr old won't care for that in the heat....we are going in Aug!!!

Thanks Poly

I think you should have time. Granted you don't get lost or anything. And that BBB takes your daughter on time.

:thumbsup2

I think it will be tight parking at marketplace can be tough so you may want to go to poly before BBB check in you can't get inyour room but could get your tickets but if you do not need tickets from hotel check in later after lunch have pool dip and check in- I think the hardest time to check in is around 2-3 tha tmay take a while too. anyway good luck!

I would call the BBB directly and ask them how they'll style your DD's hair. My DD got a ponytail holder that has multi colored braids with little Mickey hads on the strands, along with fake hair. Her own hair is shoulder length. They atttached it by wrapping the loop around her own ponytail which they braided and pinned up. Perhaps they have a way of securing this same "extension" when the hair is too short for a ponytail. They are pretty creative there. I don't think short hair would be a problem, just a different technique. One extension/ponytail thing was included in the cost of the package.

They also have the "Cool Dude" package at the BBB, where they spike the boy's hair, use colored gel, and they put a Mickey on the back of their head. I think it's the same thing that they do for the boys at the Mainstreet Barbershop in the MK. (Food for thought: some people have mentioned that their boys would be mortified to have their hair styled there as it is a girly looking boutique.)

The Adventure store is located a few doors down from the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. It's a store with a lot of pirate themed merchandise. You can fill your own treasure chest or add pirate embellishments to a pirate hat.

As for the time issue, get to the BBB as early as possible. We arrived well before our appointment time and they were able to take us shortly thereafter. You could probably even call and ask them how booked they are. My DD got the hair and makeup package and it didn't take longer than 20 minutes.

Hope this helps you! :goodvibes

Here's the back of my DDs head.

I don't have much flexibility-I will be driving up from Ft. Myers (about 4 hour drive) so that is why I figured do BBB first (leaving Ft. Myers at 7am, I hope!!) , then meeting my husband at the Poly- he will be flying in from NY to meet us. I am hoping DTD will be light on a Sun am so hopefully parking wont be an issue. We really want to get to the MK and get started. I don't want to ruin her hair and "look" before we go to lunch at the castle w/ swimming. I hope this works!! :Pinkbounc

Off topic... but funny....WE are in Fort Myers, too! :thumbsup2

Aside from swimming (which would destroy the look) the hairstyle will hold up very well. DD was able to keep hers in for two days before taking it down for a swim. They gave it an extra shot of hair spray for us because I decided (DUMB MISTAKE) to bring her dress with us and dress her AFTER her hair was styled. I had a tough time getting her dress over her head! I won't make that mistake twice! :rolleyes1

Wow Ft. Myers too? How long is the drive? I have gotten a few different driving times from people, but you would know for sure!!!

Thanks for the info, I am not stressing as much. I am just worried about getting to that castle, and being the control freak, I don't want to leave checking in the hotel up to my hubbie because I want to approve the room
Yes I am ridiculous! :rotfl2:

The length of the drive depends on how many stops you have to make, the hour of day you leave, and the traffic. I have made it up there in 2.5 hours on a good day, and it's taken us close to 5 when we have to make 10,000 bathroom, food, etc... stops. I would plan on 3.5 hours. It's usually 2 hours up on I75 and one across on I4. Good luck!

We are in Naples- pretty funny and it almost always takes us three hours as no one is allowed to stop we are on our way to disney! :rotfl2: I meant to swim and check in after your lunch and tour of MK like a late afternoon pool time - kids swim with dad and you check in but we usually hit parks first them check in later as we have annual passes. Good luck sounds fun! We'll be there 6-3-6-4 and 7-19-7-22 we are averaging almost once a month :cool1: I thought this addiction would slow once we moved to Florida last July guess not :rotfl:

Nice to meet ya, neighbor :thumbsup2 Small world isn't it (pun intended :rotfl: ) We have seasonal passes. We try to go up the night before, check in late, quick snack/swim and head to bed so we're there for the next a.m. When that's not possible, we head up early in the a.m. and park hop like crazy. Some trips, it seems like we stop way too many times. Other times, we don't stop at all. We were there three months in row but our passes block out, so we're taking the summer off. We're anxiously awaiting our 1st DCL cruise in September. :cool1: Praying that the hurricanes all die out at sea, far, far away! pixiedust:

Back on topic.....loved the BBB and can't wait to do it again! Not sure if we'll do it before our cruise as DD will probably get her hair braided on board. If not then, I'm sure we'll be visiting the BBB the next time we're there!

ENJOY!
