BBB Boutique Openings

Has anyone ever had luck having BBB Boutique reservations at the Magic Kingdom open up? I need two for twin girls in November and didn't realize how early you need to get reservations. Also, any DIY ideas?

We will likely DIY because I am very comfortable doing hair in buns securely. If you are interested in doing a simple bun that looks professional, you will need:

• a fine-toothed comb
• hair mousse
  
• hair spray
• a hair doughnut
• a bun hair net
• two hair elastics
• several bobby pins
• a small comb tiara (optional)

The steps are quite simple.

1. Put a generous amount of hair mousse in tangle-free hair and comb it into a high ponytail.
2. Pull the ponytail into the doughnut and distribute ponytail hair evenly around doughnut.
3. Roll the doughnut down, making sure the hair is evenly distributed around it until it is snug against her head.
4. Cover the doughnut hair bun with the bun hair net.
5. Put the second hair elastic over the hair net.
6. Secure the lot in place with bobby pins.
7. Spray the living daylights out of it and slide in comb tiara at the front.

Google using hair doughnuts for videos that give visual steps. The hair doughnut alone is enough for most people and can stay in place without the net, second elastic and bobby pins. However, I can tell you from experience that this hairstyle can survive days in the field on military exercises, so it should survive your daughters in a theme park!

BBB type hairstyles are easy to DIY and there are tutorials out there for the exact princess bun they do there, but the hair doughnut is easy for a beginner and can look very professional without much effort. I would recommend a trial run or two, and factor in the humidity (hairspray and mousse greatly aid that).

Comfortable and costume rarely go hand in hand - they are usually made from cheap lace and the seams are not covered/finished off properly, leaving little girls complaining that they are itchy. It depends on the age of your twins. Personally, I think a flower girl dress can make a great princess dress and they tend to have finished seams/lining that make them more comfortable. You could check Ross's or wait for the Black Friday sales for some that won't break the budget.

If your girls are into a particular princess, check the Disney store website immediately before and after Halloween - the costumes are often deeply discounted and you could get them delivered to your WDW resort. Just make sure the girls have a cami or something with them to protect their skin from the seams - a ballet style leotard works well, especially if it has an attached skirt to add a bit of pouf under the costume.

Ended up booking at Disney Springs and found that had more availability.. not sure if that's an option you want to go with?

Thanks all. The Halloween dress option will be great timing for us Also I opted to not do Disney Spring because I am worried the commute will waste valuable park time
