I need some help, DH and I have been to both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, and never really paid attention to the kids areas. Which one is better for a two-year-old? We will be there 07/06 and intending on hitting a waterpark on a Wednesday. Also, which is less crowded during the week? We have been to BB in Oct. when it was empty and TL during summer Saturday when it's a zoo and can't really judge. Thanks for any help.

I have only been to typhoon lagoon so I can't compare the two but I just wanted to say I was there in 04 with my dd who had just turned two. I was not impressed at all with the kids area. It was ok but nothing special. I've been to alot of waterparks and I would say the kid area at typhoon lagoon was my least favorite. My dd did like this little hill thing they had that she could go down on a tube by herself. If your dd/ds is brave they might like it too. There is an area where they can shoot these little water cannons but older kids get on them and the little ones don't seem to get a chance. They kept shooting my dd in the face with the cannons, luckily she has lots of cousins and is used to the abuse so she didn't really care.

We've done both with our youngest dd. BB has a ton more to do in the little kids' area.

BB is a lot more little kid friendly. There is more for them to do, and the area is nicer. What I remember most about the little kids area at TL is that lots of big kids kept going in there, running around and knocking the little ones down. BB is much better.

BB :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Great area, lots of space, lots of fun for the kids, cartoon theme, well supervised, limited ways in and out, close to food, just a hop from the wave pool and lazy river. Great in their design. I like that it is water oriented and refreshing.

TL was extremely tiny originally and then they expanded it, but it's still along a main path and we find it to be alittle chaotic. I find it to be very sand oriented and hot.

My favorite is BB too. The Tikes Peak area has waterslides that my DS can use by himself (first time was age 3), then also even smaller ones that my DD can use too (first time was age 1 1/2). In that area, there is a little pool, pop up jets, sand boxes, and another set of waterslides that you can go down holding your little one.

My 2 year old loved BB. We are going to Disney in Aug and we will definitely be going to BB over TL. When we went to TL, the water cannons were just too much for our daughter. The big kids were spraying them constantly. BB has lots of room, waterslides for little ones and a large pool area. For us, there is no competition.

I agree that BB has more in the kiddie area but I had a problem with how many of the slides were set up. I wanted to be able to wait with DD2 at the top and then get to the bottom in time to catch her and that was pretty much impossible with the way the slides were set up. I preffered TL's curvy slide; I could put her on the tube give her a push and then be there by the time she got to the bottom. DH was often off with the older kids so I needed to be able to watch her by myself. If you don't have a need to divide and conquer than my issue may be a non-issue for you. I will say that the family raft ride at BB was way superior to the one at TL. Just another thought.

Blizzard Beach it is! Thank you for all of your help. The responses were very informative! I'm sure DD2 will have a blast. We love Blizzard Beach, the freezing water dripping on you on the lazy river is hilarious.
Thanks!

I have a question, too. We will be going in October(probably on the 19th to be exact) and we'll have a 4 y/o and a 2 y/o ( a 9 y/o too but she's a "big kid" now so she's fine). since you guys are saying the BB kiddie area is better, does that mean that it will probably be the crowded one? I think we're only doing 1 waterpark and we've never been to either. We really want to ride Crush N Gusher, so we were leaning toward TL. Is it totally corny?

We have been to both water parks and I felt that there was just more room for my DD 2 to play at BB. Both times, however, we got to the water park when it opened and left by lunch. If you get there at opening, you will have time to play before the big crowds arrive. You can also get the better chairs in the shade. The kiddie area at TL seems smaller and more crowded to me. There is also nothing corny about planning your Disney vacation. You have to make the best decision for you and your family. Whichever park you decide on, you will have much better luck getting there early.
