Does anyone know if Baymax and Hiro will be around in January. My kids desperately want to meet them. And Moana of course.....

I think Baymax made a brief reappearance for AP Days earlier this year, but neither he nor Hiro are regular meet and greet characters anymore. Moana is currently meeting, so hopefully she'll still be around in January for you to meet. Good luck!

When they had the Baymax greet, it started in early November, the AP preview was the day the Christmas fireworks soft opened, and the general open was the next day. Then they ended it in January, before Christmas was officially over, so on the 3rd or 4th. When they announced Moana, my first thought was she'll be around as long as Baymax, about 2 months.

OH NO! SO Moana may not be there end of January?! yikes.

In the end I think if a character hangs around depends on just how popular that character is. Look at Anna & Elsa HUGELY popular and still doing Meet & Greets, 2+ years later.

I wish Baymax and Hiro would come back. I missed them the first time around and my kids all love them now. Maybe when Marvel takes over part of DCA? Since they're technically Marvel and totally fit with the superhero thing?

I heard Moana might be around longer. It depends on how the movie does though I think.

I don't think it's a popularity thing with Baymax. It's the limitations of the suit, both movement and time the CM can be in it, and the time it takes to move in and out of position and having a space that works with those limits. When they had him out for AP Days, he was out for about 20 minutes, and only about 2/3 of the time was actually greeting guests, the rest was moving about 15 feet from the curtain to the greeting spot.

But they should really add some merchandise. I have the free Baymax backpack from an AP event and I get asked multiple times every trip if I bought it in the parks. The sipper was also very popular before it was taken out of TL for the Star Wars overlay.
