Sorry if this has been asked, but my search didn't turn up the answers to my question, and the somewhat related posts I did find were a couple of years old.

We recently was able to book a stay at Bay Lake Towers (renting points via David's) for this coming May. While we have stayed on property many times, we have never stayed at Bay Lake Towers nor in a DVC property for that matter. Our reservation is for a Lake View 2-BR Villa. I'm curious about what some reasonable (or maybe even some long shot) room requests we could / should consider making?

Are there any "Lake View" rooms that actually overlook the MK? To the point where you could see the fireworks? Is this a request that could even be made?

What about specific request looking towards Epcot?

Room near the bridge to the Contemporary resort?

Floor Request (higher / lower)?

Any information would be helpful.

Thanks.

Yes, people request, "north end, even numbered room, high floor" to get a Theme Park view on Lake View points. There aren't many of those rooms and most have a great view of Space Mountain and some can see the castle but not all, but you can see the fireworks although it is a side view.

What about specific request looking towards Epcot?

All of your requests are possible at BLT. However I cannot see any advantage to asking to face Epcot as you would request to see the marina in an even numbered room instead since Epcot is mostly hidden by trees and is so far away many don't notice it.

Room near the bridge to the Contemporary resort?

People with small children often request to be near the skybridge, but I don't see a need for that as BLT is small enough you can get from the far to the skybridge within five minutes.

Floor Request (higher / lower)?

High floor for a better view.

Except for the Epcot, all the requests you mentioned are commonly made requests by DVC members at BLT. Since so many ask for the same views and those rooms might be already occupied for your check in day, you might want to be prepared to not have any of them met.

Another question. All the "Floor Plans" layouts I've seen are obviously of the outside rooms (narrow by the doors and wide by the windows). Does anyone know if any floor plans of the inner rooms. How do they differ?

The inner rooms have a larger laundry area with a smaller living room.

Be aware that there are only three (3) dedicated, two-bedroom, lake-view units that would have a half-way decent view of the Magic Kingdom.

The buildings are reasonably compact, so "near elevator" isn't really necessary. Unless you plan to make many trips to Epcot or the other monorail resorts, I don't see any point being on the 5th floor with the walkway to the Contemporary.

Some folks complain about rooms on the inside in the north or south tower because you feel like you're looking straight across into someone else's room. But the dedicated two-bedrooms are on the end, so that really shouldn't be much of a problem, either.

Honestly, with a lake view, my one request is "high floor." I don't see any reason to get more specific than that.

With lake view, I tend to keep it it simple with a higher floor request. If you get higher floor, views are pretty good no matter where you are.

We have reserved a dedicated 2 bedroom lake view at BLT close to 10 times since it opened. We always request even numbered, north view for the partial view of the MK.

We have received this view a total of 1 time. Request what you like, but our experience at BLT has been that you do not get requests very often :)

Our very favorite 2 bedroom villa was on the 16th floor, facing the lake. It was fantastic. Our least favorite villas have been on lower floors, facing the pool. It is very loud on the balconies, and you really only look into other people's villas on the other side of the building.

By my count, there are 74 dedicated, two-bedroom, lake-view units at BLT. There are only 3 with a half-way decent Magic Kingdom view. There might be 11 more with a partial view (standing on the balcony). The issue isn't that requests don't get filled; but rather that your specific request is unlikely to be filled. That's literally 4% of the potential rooms. If your request was honored more than 1 out of 25 stays, you'd be doing well.

We were once assigned a LV studio on the 16th floor and loved it. It's now our favorite BLT location, too. View was wonderful and it was only a few steps down the hall to the TOTWL deck and lounge. Very convenient to watch WISHES - we were back in the room before most were even able to get on the elevator! :teeth:

Could someone help explain the different laundry room and living room sizes?

I am not sure what you are asking. The odd numbered rooms has a laundry room that is the size of a small walk in closet. It still has the same stacked washer and driver.

The even numbered room has a closet that is only large enough to hold the washer and dryer.

The living room in the even numbered 1 & 2BRs rooms are pie shaped. Narrow at the entrance and wider at the widow. The kitchen in the even numbered rooms has a larger island with two stools for dining. It might be one to two feet wider. It really depends on the room's location. Some rooms the pie shape is more pronounced.

The odd numbered 1 & 2BRs has a smaller island without the additional seating.

My camera doesn't have a wide lens so I could not get a full photo of the living rooms. You might want to look at You Tube videos.

I saw somewhere that some rooms have the bigger living room with smaller laundry. Some had bigger laundry rooms and smaller living rooms. So even numbered rooms have the bigger living area?
