I’m sure this question as been covered ad nauseum, but I have a few questions about BLT. If you have a room booked at BLT, how do you gain access to the observation deck to watch the fireworks? Do you need reservations or do you just show your room key? If you just need your room key, can you go as many times as you like during your stay?

My other question is regarding a kingdom view room. If you decide to call it an early evening, and decide to go to sleep at 8:30 PM will the noise from the fireworks keep you up?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Assuming you booked your stay through Member Services, you go to the lobby of BLT (after 5 pm) and show the CMs at the desk there your KTTW card. Some reports say you also need your blue membership card, but we were only asked for the KTTW card with "DVC Member" written on it.

The CM walks you to the elevator and uses his/her key in the elevator to allow you to go to the top floor.

You may go to the TOTWL every night of your stay if you wish to do so. We went several times during our stay.

Can't answer your question about the fireworks.

They don't accept reservations. To access the lounge and observation deck, a checkin desk will be open on the first floor starting at 5pm. You need to show them your BLT room key with DVC Member designation. They will then escort you to an elevator and send you up to the 16th floor by using a special key card.

There is a capacity limit to the lounge and it is first-come-first-served, but the bartenders said they've never had to turn anyone away from the lounge yet. Even on the busy 4th of July and New Years Eve nights.

The only way to access the lounge is if your reservation has been booked through DVC Member Services. Rooms booked through member services (cash or points) are allowed to access the lounge. Rooms booked through CRO or a travel agent (cash) aren't eligible to visit the lounge...even if you are a DVC member.

If/when you go to the lounge, be sure to come early and stick around after the show for drinks and munchies. We have to support the lounge (buy stuff) if we want it available to us in the future!

We stayed in LV rooms in the inner circle and you could definitely hear the fireworks - and see some of the too. That said, they did not wake up anyone in our party who was sleeping when they went off. I would imagine they would be louder in to MKV room because the BLT building wouldn't be there to absorb/deflect some of the sound.

FWIW The Summer Nightastic fireworks were going on at the beginning of our stay and then the regular Wishes ones returned towards the end. THe Summer Nightastic ones were definitely louder and more visible to us - I think this may be b/c there were more perimeter fireworks in that show than in Wishes.

We stayed in a MKV room last December. The fireworks noise was noticable but I don't think it would wake anyone up unless they were a very very lite sleeper. If someone talking outside your room door doesn't bother you, then the fireworks shouldn't.

Thank you to everyone for you input. It was both helpful and appreciated.

I don't know about the noise from the fireworks, but we had a lakeview room and the water parade was loud. We didn't mind, but if the boys were trying to fall asleep they got too excited.
