Hi All, I am trying to set up a waitlist for Bay Lake Tower and wasn't sure which room category I would have the best luck with. I want to waitlist a 2 bedroom and am indifferent about lock-off or 2 bedroom Villa.

I haven't been able to find a room count based on the View. Is this information posted somewhere? I am also indifferent if we have a lake, standard or park view. Just want to maximize my chances!

Any help would be appreciated!

At BLT, Lake View makes up about 70% of all available rooms. You can have 2 active wait lists going at once during a use year. If you don't currently have any, you could wait list both a lock-off and dedicated 2-bedroom in the Lake View category. That would maximize you chances of getting a 2-bedroom at BLT.

The problem here is there is a guaranteed # of 2 br dedicated, but does anyone know how many of the lock offs are reserved as 1 br and studios as opposed to 2b lock off? Are half set aside for each or does supply and demand dictate how they are used?

I'm thinking they would have an exact number set aside for each category as using them as a 1 br and a studio is more points than a 2 br

How they actually reserve 2BR lock-offs is not clear. I was informed many years ago that a large portion are held for some time to be reserved only as 2BRs and how many and how long they are held was something guided by historical bookings. However, that was in answer to the question for BWV which has no dedicated 2 BRs and does have dedicated studios and 1BRs. Thus they can assign reservations to most of those dedicated studios and 1BRs before really needing any studios or 1BRs that are part-of lock-offs.

BLT has only 2BR lock-offs and dedicated 2BRs. Whenever there are openings at 7 months and beyond such as for lake view, what i have noticed is that 2BR lock-offs usually disappear well before the 2BR dedicateds do so, but 1BRs are last to go, indicating that the lock-offs are being taken mostly by those who want studios and they are not being saved as 2BRs much beyond the 7 month window if at all. I have seen the same at AKV Kidani.

That's the best answer yet I've heard. It always makes me wonder how they calculate points for the points charts and for sales. If they counted them all as studios and 1 br they can sell that many more points. So somewhere in the past a decision had to be made on how to count them.....which probably figures into how many are held before the 7 month mark. I guess they resort to supply/demand after that?
