Bay Lake Tower - Studio Lake View Questions!

Hello all!

My husband and I will be staying at BLT in a Studio/Lake View room. This will be our first time at BLT—we changed our reservation from the CR/MK view to take advantage of the 35% Visa discount that just came out last week.

Since we’ve never stayed here before…and I’ve heard some conflicting info—renovations, policy changes etc etc, I’m hoping you guys that have stayed in one of the Studios recently can answer some questions.

1 – Bathroom Sink….have these all been moved into the bathrooms or are they still outside the bathroom across from the kitchenette?

2 – If the sinks have been moved….does anyone have updated pictures of the bathroom and kitchenette?

3 – Bathroom Door…..do these have locks?….I have NEVER understood why you would have a bathroom door that didn’t lock…that weirds me out!

4 – Room Size….it’s just the 2 of us…will we feel cramped?

5 – MK/Lake View….I’ve seen a couple of pics where some folks had a view of both….any idea what room #s these might be?

6 – Top of the World Lounge….is this still only available to DVC members or can all BLT guests stay?

7 – Check in….do we check in at the CR or do we go directly to BLT….does it matter?

I know that’s a lot of questions….but I appreciate any info you guys can offer.

We LOVED BLT!!!!! We stayed in a Studio with a Magic Kingdom view in July....not sure if there are any differences between the 2 but here is my experience.

1) In our room the sink was in the bathroom not in the kitchenette.

3)The bathroom door was a slider, I honestly can't remember if it had a lock or not.

4) I think the studio is a great size for couples...more than that might be an issue. It was just my husband and I and we weren't cramped. As far as space the only complaint I had was there wasn't great places for luggage but we made due.

5) Our room number was 7618. Straight ahead was Magic Kingdom, to the left was the Contemporary and to the right was tennis courts....far right you could see part of Bay Lake (not much though).

6) We rented points from a friend, we ourselves are not DVC members. Technically the lounge is for DVC members whose "home" resort is BLT. Having said that it is really up to the discrepancy of the CM and how busy they are. We were aloud to go up, doesn't hurt to ask .

7) When we went check in was only at the Contemporary. As far as I understand they now have a check in counter in the lobby of Bay Lake as well. I believe if you are taking DME you are still dropped off at the Contemporary and will check in there. I'm not entirely sure if that is accurate as it wasn't like that when we were there.

Thank you so much!! I'm so glad to hear you loved it....i'm in love with the MK view at the CR so I was nervous to give it up...but now I am officially excited to stay at BLT!!

You'll need to have a DVC member card and a valid KTTW or your KTTW coded as DVC member to go up to the TOTWL.

The bathroom door is a slider. I think they were able to put some sort of latch on it.

The bathroom latch is on the sliding door. It's a little hard to spot. It's a tab you pull out after you shut the door that stops the door from sliding open. however, if the door doesn't fit tightly( which some of them don't) because it doesn't stay on its track, the door will still slide past the latch, so pull the door closed. The sink was moved to the bathroom--it's a bit small, but it's in there.

I'm still amazed that at the CR they didn't put locks on the bathroom door...isn't that kinda the one room in the house that should have a lock!?!?!?

That's the thing. They aren't regular doors. They are sliders. So it is not as easy to put a latch on the door.

and I'm so weird about that! Which is ridiculous because I'm only sharing the room with my husband....so yes I'm completely ridiculous...but I want a dang lock on the door anyway!
