As far as I can tell the only experience that is only for MMB members is the extended hours / character meet-and-greet at the EPCOT lounge.

Agreed since they took away the requirement of having to be staying at BLT to visit years ago.

My main beef is potentially impacted parking for actual BLT guests and then potential loss of flexibility in last minute plan changes. If we don’t feel like being in the park a particular evening, and then the viewing deck is full or crowded when we head up to watch… Annoying Again, I didn’t say outraged, just annoyed

Nothing has changed with regards to that though. Maybe you don't understand what's going on. All they've added is the ability for eligible members to book it ahead of time.

Doesn't it potentially add more strain to the parking? I presume you couldn't park at BLT/CR before this if you were just going up to TOTWL and otherwise without a reservation for WWD or one of the CR restaurants. And I think parking was raised as a complaint at the annual meeting - BLT owners reporting that they're staying there and can't find a parking spot (don't know how exaggerated that was).

You just had to tell the guard you were a DVC member there to go to the lounge, you didn't need a reservation and they would let you park after I think 7PM. I did it many times and never booked WWD or had a reservation at Contemporary.

It sounds like now they may require members to book this reservation if they plan to need to park at BLT. In the past a reservation wasn't necessary to park.

I think I'm with you, LilyJC. Ever time we've stayed at BLT we wouldn't give a second thought to heading up to watch the fireworks at the DVC viewing platform. I think the last time we were there, someone from guest services was checking your DVC membership credentials. Other than that, no planning required. We just rocked up when we were there and watched. I guess we'll see how this all works out.

Overall, for those not staying at BLT it will be a bit of planning to reserve and get there.

Going to be at Poly soon and considered making a reservation...but yeah. I can just watch fireworks from the beach and not deal with transportation. If staying at BLT it would be nice though.

It certainly has the potential to improve parking, yes! I did see where someone complained about parking during the meeting.

Yeah I've never had an issue parking at BLT. May not be able to get a "good" spot, but there's always plenty of parking in my experience.

I'm thinking that as well. BLT for viewing fireworks is wonderful, however, if not staying on property it can take time out of your Walt Disney day. If I were at Poly I'd likely view from Poly.

Any time we're traveling with first timers or non-DVC folks we always like to take them to the lounge. Park tickets are expensive and they often don't have tickets for every day of the trip, so the lounge is a great way to get them fireworks on a non-park day. Besides it's something that they can only experience when they're with us (or another DVC member obviously).

I’ll certainly be interested to see how it plays out We’re at BLT early January and then maybe October, so I’ll definitely report back
