Battle of the Waterparks!

Which is your favourite Disney Waterpark?

  • Disney's Typhoon Lagoon

  • Disney's Blizzard Beach

I'll side with the minority and vote for Blizzard Beach. Better slides (and a killer wedgie on Summit Plummet), family raft ride and the lazy river. On really crowded days, we've even walked/floated the lazy river when no tubes were available.

We've been in December and BB was wonderful! Not many people, and plenty warm. Not as many fair-skinned Brits getting a head start on their skin cancers!

We love TL wave pool and can spend hours in just the pool. But if you are wanting slides or great kid areas go to BB. TL slides are pretty tame and I hate the way the most of the paths to the top of the slides are set up. You go up 10 steps and down 4 up 20 and then down 10, it just makes the climb to the top so much harder than it needs to be. None of the slides at BB are like that and there is even a ski lift that you can ride to the top and have just a short walk to any of the slides. I was so disappointed in TLs family rate ride. It is a joke. You have to carry or roll the hugh raft up the hill and the ride is nothing. I think the whole point is so they can try to sell you a picture that they take while you are in the raft the ride is just so short. The Family raft ride at BB is great and just goes on and on. We go to BB for slides and go to TL to actually swim and for the wave pool.

I do agree that the family raft ride at BB is wonderful. It's just that the melted snow look does nothing for me. Maybe that's because we're from New England and see it too often. I love the tropical theming of TL, floating in Castaway Creek, and doing the Storm Slides. DH does the wave pool, brings back his memories of body surfing at Galveston when growing up.

dgaston, I agree with you 100%. We are also from CT and see enough snow during the winter, that seeing it at the water park does nothing for me! We love TL. We float around Castaway Creek, do the Storm Slides and the wave pool We love the setting, it is so pretty. I agree that the rides at BB are much more exciting than at TL, but at my age, the TL rides are just enough!!:p Family raft ride at BB is much better than at TL, but we ride it once each trip there, so it isn't enough to make us go to BB just for that.

Any suggestions on non-Disney water parks??

We have been to TL and loved it, but are trying to save some dinero this time, so we will be able to do more. Are you allowed to bring in a baby float with the seat in it?

Not being the sun loving type I love TL. It had more shade. I have not been to BB in a few years and we are going down with a 19 month old. Is the childs play area there shaded any better now?

I've been away for a while, but we are now planning a trip for next April. We want to go to BB since we have never been there, and how can the 2nd best water park in the country be too bad. Last time we went to TL and loved it although we happened to go on a COLD April day.
My question is, why did River Country close? We had never been there, and were hoping to hit both water parks that we had never tried.

They have a regular swimming pool at TL?

How deep is the wave pool?

Never been there so just asking. Came up with this idea tonight to do a water park and am undecided which one to do.
Want the most relaxing and tamest one, so I can relax with DD's who are 11 and 7 and adventurous.

Thanks
