Battery Advice Please!

Recently purchased a Kodak m550, just a cheap P&S. But am looking for one or two lithium ion batteries to have as extras on the trip. I'm in Canada so I need to shop online in Canada as it will ship quicker and I don't have much time before we go. I've seen really cheap ones on amazon.ca, but am skeptical, anyone try these, or have any suggestions? The battery model is KLIC 7006. Thanks!

Off brand batteries are unpredictable and may perform differently in different models of cameras using the same model of battery.

Usually the performance is improved after a few usage and recharge cycles. For now, for those first few cycles, I would wait for the battery low indicator to show on the camera before changing the battery and maybe take a few more flash shots or several more daylight shots too (as opposed to simply changing and charging the battery at bedtime).

I've just received a couple of 'Opteka' batteries for my Canon camera so by next Monday I'll have a chance to comment on non-brand batteries.

With the Canon branded battery the camera seems to last forever when you aren't using the built-in flash. I easily take 700-800 shots on a single charge.

Curiously although the Canon branded battery is rated at 1080 milli-amp hours and the Opteka is marked 1800 milli-amp hours (80% increase!) they both weigh the same. Either Opteka is smarter than whoever Canon buys their batteries from, or they are a lot more generous with their power capacity claims...we'll see this weekend...if the Opteka is really that good I should be able to take 1500 pictures on a charge.
