Do you only buy Canon batteries for your camera? (if it is a canon, that is) Anyone have any luck with a non oem battery? I need a NB-2LH and I can get a canon for $50 or a knockoff for $20-$25.

Go to sterlingtek.com for your extra batteries. Very good prices. Not OEM. I've gotten one for my Canon P&S and my Nikon dSLR.

Ya. Sterlingtek
2 batts and ac/dc charger for about $50 instead of one canon batt for that much.
I can not tell any difference in capacity btween theirs and canons.

There are a number of aftermarket batteries, all at better prices than Canon's.
One question is:
if something happens like what is going on with laptop computer batteries, will the supplier own up to it and recall/replace the batteries?

Would Canon? Or is this even an issue?

I prefer oem parts and will usually pay the premium for them.
