I've been reading the posts and finally subscribed. I just had to change the dates of our first family trip to disneyland and will now be there the first weekend in May which is I belive bat's day. Can someone tell me what to expect? We will have been there during the week but figure we will still need to go on the weekend to see the parades and possibly the fireworks so I want to know what we are in for.

Bat's Day is the day that all the Gothic and Industrial "kid's" come out to Disneyland for the day.

The event is held at the hotel on the Friday and Saturday and then everyone goes to the parks on Sunday. This means for the most part, the only day that crowds will be effected at the park is Sunday.

You will see lots and lots of "unusually" dressed people of all ages, all over the parks, and you will see lots of people at the Castle for an afternoon photo, lots of kid's and their parents for the Sword in the Stone show in FL and at approx. 8pm, almost every goth in the park out in front of the HM, for the head count and for photos.

Lots of people love the event for the people watching, and the group is one of the most liked unoffical events at the parks, because there has been so little trouble when they come to the park.

There is an offical event website www.batsday.net if you want to know more.

What's it like crowds wise? Anything compared to as many people as Gay Days weekend?

I was a bit worried to mention crowds as this is the first year they have moved the event to May (where it should stay). No the event is not nearly as big as Gay Day's. I think in the past the event has brought in approx 2000 people, it might be a bit more this year with the cooler temps. And though the focus is DL, I saw many people over in DCA at all times of days, which helps some :)

When they held Bats Day in the summer, it was about as crowded as a usual summer day at the Park. From my experience, it was not nearly as crowded as Gay Days. Don't know how crowded it'll be now that it's been moved to the springtime.

Thank you everyone.

That's the weekend of my birthday. We've been to Gay Days and it was super packed. At least it won't be that busy. Yay! :)

Thank you!
