We are sailing on the Fantasy in January on a 7-day Eastern cruise. Our kids are 9 and 11 and I was wondering if they will find an excursion to the Baths interesting and fun? if not, other fun kid options in Tortola port for kids? Our 9 year old does not want to swim with dolphins.

if you go through the "caves" to devils bay - yes they could have fun climbing, going under those huge boulders. The beach area at Devils Bay is much larger than at the Baths.

They had a whole episode about a visit to that area on Below Deck recently -- looked like a beautiful way to spend a day.

My kids are the same ages as yours. We have been to the Baths, though not with Disney (we were staying on Peter Island). Our children were not with us on that trip, but they would have enjoyed it. It is a lot of exploring through the big boulders. It is kind of a one-way path through it because there are some really narrow areas, a few things to climb up and down. I think they will enjoy it!

If they like the beach, would like climbing on/between big rocks, and aren't fazed by some rough surf, then I'd say it's worth the trip. If that kind of thing is not their bag, you might want to skip.

We made the first ferry there 745 with the help of a taxi to the ferry and first off the ship. Only to have my daughter vomit on me from the rough ferry water. The rocks are amazing but the red flag at the end of the rock climb was not fun. So we couldn't swim that day, and the buses kept coming with a ton of people. A tour guide was telling another group that the flags are red once a week and that a woman had drowned a few days ago. There is a restaurant at the top of the hill and it has a pool (cold water) but it helped. I was disappointed and actually stayed on the ship the following St. Thomas day because of it.

We went to Tortola 5 years ago when the kids were 6 and 10 and they LOVED it! They both like to explore, so it was perfect for them. We are going back this spring and the whole family is really looking forward to it.

So glad you posted this! We were wondering if the 7:45 ferry was doable. Were there a lot of people waiting to get off the ship at 7:30? How early did you have to line up?

Sorry to hear that the water was rough and the beach was closed. Was it busy at the beach as soon as you arrived or did you have some nice quiet time to explore The Baths?
