If you tent camp, what are the bathroom situations like? Are they stalls or private? What about showering, brushing teeth etc?

Good Morning. The comfort stations (a.k.a. bathrooms) are some of the best you'll fing camping IMO. They are typical bathrooms with stalls for the wc and sinks aoutside the stalls like any restroom. There are stalls around the side with showers and changing areas all in one private stall. The stations have a/c. You will need your KTTW card for trips in the middle of the night as the door is secure during late hours.
Good Luck and have a great trip.

At least on the ladies side, there is also a great big mirror on the side with a small shelf and lots of plugs, so you don't tie up the sinks for blow drying, curling, etc.

The bathrooms were great and we did not seem to have any problems with waiting since some of the people have baths in their rv's. I never waited more than 5 minutes for a place to change clothes and shower. They were very clean in the ladies room. Have a great time. Valirie:)

I have to admit the bathrooms at the Fort are one of the few public bathrooms I really have no problem with, toilets or showers.

In fact, the first time I visit in the morning sometimes makes me feel like I'm "home" as sick as that sounds...lol.

Not to sound dumb, but are RV campers allowed to use these comfort stations as well??

Of course, they are for everyone to use. :) We have a bathroom in the motorhome, but with 5 of us and a 6 gallon hot water tank...showering takes about 2 hours from start to finish. If the campground bathrooms are ok we shower there and are done in about 15 minutes. The Fort has some of the nicest bathrooms we have been to.

I also wanted to add that each comfort station (bathroom) also has laundry facilities and ice machines. There is generally one comfort station per loop, with a couple of them sharing. I'm not sure if there are as many in the cabin area though.

This is our plan as well.:thumbsup2

i am a picky psycho freak about clean bathrooms/showers - when camping we pull in and inspect the bath/shower house before we check in and pay for our site. if it dosen't pass my inspection, we keep on rolling until we find one that is clean enough.

that being said....the bathrooms/showers at FW can't be beat! i love the smell of bleach in the morning. i know the germs are dead!

we generally just use them for the shower and toilet facilities. we generally brush our teeth and fix our hair back at our camper.

The bathrooms and showers are spotless. Only thing I noticed is that the faucets are not hot and cold water. I went in there last night to shave and couldn't shave with cold water. No biggie I just shaved in the shower, but I did notice it anyway. The faucets on the sinks are "motion" cold water only :)

Remember this fact if you go to 50's Prime Time to eat. They frequently ask if you washed your hands, and if you say yes, they will ask what color the soap was, and if you get that right, they will ask what side the hot water faucet is on.

Just recently back from first trip to the fort and I must agree that the Comfort Stations are the best I've yet to experience now in our 4th summer of RV camping.

We have a travel trailer so we can shower in there but, when we stay where the comfort stations are clean and private, my daughter and I usually prefer to shower there leaving the trailer bathroom available to my wife and son not having to worry about running out of hot water.

We were there for 8 days and I don't think I took a single shower prior to midnight each night except for one just before pulling out on the last day. The are locked between midnight and 6 am and you must have your resort Id to get in. I never had to wait and most of the time there was nobody in the showers when I went in.

I must give kudos to WDW for keeping them clean. They literally hose them down from ceiling to floor every day. If you go over while they are being cleaned, it looks like a flood is occuring from the inside out. With that said, I have to call out the disrespectful few that seem to do everything possible to trash the place. I don't understand and cannot relate to the mentality of some people when it comes to things like this. I'd like to think it's just due to some immature/irresponsible teenagers that were allowed to go over by themselves. Almost every evening I would find little size stickers from new clothes stuck to the walls, tags from new clothes torn off and just thrown on the floor, full matchbooks thrown on the wet shower floors, and the last night I went to shower, someone had even kicked one of the doors so hard it was split in half horizontally from one end almost to the other. These people work hard to keep those places ultra-clean for the campers. Why not try to leave it as you found it? How hard is it to throw your trash in the can and not on the floors?

I apologize but I had to vent.

Quick question, and I'm a Disney newbie so bear with me..........If you need a Key to the World card to get into the bathrooms at night but you buy your tickets off site say through undercover tourist, how does that work? :confused3

You will received a resort ID whether you buy tickets or not. You will simply have two cards. One as your key to the bath house (and charging priviledges) and proof that you are a resort guest for Extra Magic Hours), and your other card will be your park ticket for entry into the parks.

You can have that park ticket added to your resort key by "Resort Concierge" at the front desk of Ft. Wilderness.

I didn't realize you could have your tickets added. I also bought mine through my company because I got a discount so we carried our tickets and our resort id's everywhere because, while you don't need the resort id to get in the park, you will need it to get a wristband for extra magic hours. You also need it to get back in the re-entry gate at FW if you choose to drive your own vehicle to any of the parks or drive off-site for any other reason.

As far as the bathrooms go, I think it's a silly false sense of security. Several times, when I was coming out of the bathroom, someone was standing there waiting for the door to open so they could get in. Anyone with any bad intentions could simply do the same thing. There are more than one way for someone that is even a little familiar with the place to get in, stay as long as they want, and leave without ever having had to use a resort Id to get in. Not trying to scare anyone but it's a fact.
