Bathrooms and Disney??

With two kids under 5, I have a feeling I'll be spending some time in the bathrooms at Disney Where are the best bathrooms in each park? Are there some that have 2 exits, where we might get separated? Give me your best (and worst!) bathroom experiences.

Being a father of two boys, now ages 6 and 8, I seem to spend an inordinate amount of time in bathrooms. I've found that Disney has great bathrooms. Some might have two exits, I can't recall. Some people on here have kids that get scared by the automatic flushers though.

I had lots of worries on my last trip to WDW with my girls alone. We didn't have any bathroom problems, usually. I either went into the really large stalls (usually) or I had them stand right outside the stall I was in and kept talking to them.

They are definitely some of the nicest bathrooms around, as far as public restrooms go. I can't stand public restrooms, but didn't mind them. DD3 was in them quite a lot! The nice thing is that they all have the seat protectors in the stalls - hate her sitting on the seat. Both of us could fit into the regular size stall, but did try to get the larger one when we could. They are all over too, which is nice. I got into the habit of always looking around for the signs for them just in case we had to suddenly run to one!! That didn't happen often - I made sure she went frequently, esp before long rides or shows.

The best bathroom is the one that's closest when you need it!

Actually, I didn't notice any really bad bathrooms in WDW and we got our share of use out of them. When taking a child in, I try to get two stalls right next to each other. I tell the child to stay locked in the stall until I come to get him, even if he finishes before me. That way, I can watch his feet and keep talking to him. When I'm done, I tell him to come out and then we wash hands together. It seems to work well for us.

All the bathrooms are fine at WDW! When someone in our family needs to use the washroom, we all at least try to "go" -- usually we all do "go" and I'm positive it cuts down on our bathroom visits, ie. stopping every 20-30 minutes for a different person.

Do the bathrooms have changing stations for babies as well? I know they have a baby station, but I may not want to walk to it each time my 2 year old needs changed.

The bathrooms overall are wonderful. I strongly suggest, however, that you use the baby care centers whenever possible. There is one in every park and they are fantastic. There are changing tables with disposable papers for cleanliness. I could never bring myself to use the tables in the restrooms. I know, I know. I have issues. The best thing about the baby care centers are that they are a peaceful respite from the parks with your little one. Happy planning!!!

I have a portable pad I use to lay her on, so that doesn't bother me. I am one who can't stand walking across the park to find something. So if a bathroom near me has a changing thing, I will use that.

I find the bathrooms to always be clean. You don't find that at Universal, their bathrooms are gross!!
At MGM, Pizza planet, there are 2 exits. 1 to the inside of the gameroom and the other one to the outside, so I would be careful of that one.
Great ideas about keeping the child in the stall next to you until you are done. Wish I would have thought of that 15 years ago
You will see a CM cleaning everytime you go in one it seems like. I like that because I hate public bathrooms.

The only bathroom I've found in WDW that was less than I'd come to expect was the one in the Liberty Tree Tavern restaurant. It was TINY!!! and desparately needed a renovation....

Baby care centers, and the resort restrooms...the ones by check in desks are ALWAYS nice...

Yes, the restrooms all have changing tables and they are usually a nice large area. While I do use the baby care center if I am close I also will not walk all the way back to do a diaper change. We were just there two weeks ago and my 2yo likes to do "stand-up" changes, but I also use a pad if we have to lay down.

Oh and I believe all or most of the men's rooms also have changing tables. Sometimes I would take DD to women's and DH would take DS to do the diaper.

I hear what you are saying about walking back to the baby care centers. Keep in mind, I was pretty neurotic. Fortunately I've relaxed a lot.

Sometimes the bathrooms won't have a changing station in them, but you will find a "family restroom" next door.

For little ones who are scared of the automatic flush, you can put post it notes over the auto flusher.

Also, if your little one is potty training, they do make foldable seat covers, that make the seat smaller for your little one.

We're almost actively potty training *I got her to go once at Disney last time, woot!*, so this coming trip, I'll more than likely have lysol wipes, the foldable seat and handy wipes for her. The lysol wipes to clean off our foldable toilet seat.

Also, the baby center is rumored to have tiny potties, but I haven't ever used them.

Potty training at the world, who would have thought I would have become and expert?

My Dh calls me obsessed about my planning, but I am making a list of all the bathrooms at the parksto keep in my backpack. That way, if an emergency arises, I will know exactly which direction to go.

The restrooms are also clearly marked on the maps at each of the parks. However, the maps do not show which areas also have companion restrooms.

Sometimes the bathrooms won't have a changing station in them, but you will find a "family restroom" next door.

They are actually Companion Restrooms (for people who need assistance in the restroom), not family restrooms.
Since they are set up for people with disabilities, they have the higher handicapped accessible toilets. Some have a changing table, but not all.
