Bathroom Situation

I had just finished explaining to him that my son was missing when another CM approached him and told him they had a missing boy and asked if anyone had reported a missing child. The Splash Mountain CM said no one had. I turned to the other CM and told him my son was missing. It turned out he had run over to ride Winnie the Pooh and a kind grandma took him up to the CM and waited for them to find us. But the Splash CM was NOT helpful at all.

Yeah, on any given day you'll find that a certain small percentage of the CMs are stoned out of their gourds, but overall the system works.

As for the drive down, don't go to rest stops. Go to restaurants. Stop at Starbucks, Dennys, etc. That way it's a bit more controlled than at a rest area.
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES THIS!

I had a recovering drug addict tell me to NEVER take my child to a road-side rest stop to use the restroom--that more times than not, a fair amount of people there are dealing or buying drugs or worse (ie, human trafficking). He has a bit of paranoia when he's clean and sober, so maybe that's all it was. But he made me promise to never stop at a rest stop to take my child, or myself, to use the facilities. There's almost always a Starbucks or similar type place near exits. PLEASE use those instead of road-side rest stops.

Clearly, I'm a bit paranoid about it too :)

I don't think your brother is being over-protective at all. I'm not sure I'd trust anyone else to take my kid(s) to Disneyland without me, let alone leave them alone while you go to the bathroom :D so I think it's great you're being sensitive to his concerns.

A WDW employee was raped inside of a closet at Epcot, by another WDW employee: http://www.inquisitr.com/1401843/wa...-not-quite-the-happiest-place-on-earth-video/

Things can and do happen. Most of the bathrooms have a little lobby/waiting line area and I would ask him to wait inside that little waiting area but not in visibility of the stalls, if possible. I think most moms will understand. Or maybe if there's a cast member nearby, ask him to stay near the cast member?
