Bathroom scale dilemma

Like most women we at work are dieting. It is great because we encourage each other every day. We have 2 bathroom scales at work and we each have one at home. Well mine at home is the same as the black scale at work and about 6 pounds heavier than the white one at work. Judy's scale at home (not real names here) is the same as the white one at work. Lisa's scale at home is the same as the white one at work too. Lisa even went to the health club around the corner and weighed and it was 2 pounds heavier than the one at her house and the white one here at work. Everyone but me weighs heavier on the black one here at work. I know it is not a major crisis but boy I am so tempted to go with the white scale since it drops my weight by 6 pounds.

What do you guys think?

I agree with the white scale. In fact, I would carry it around with me all the time.

Throw the black scale away.

:thumbsup2:lmao:

I try not to worry about the 'absolute' value of my scale, only the comparison from one day to another. As long as my weight isn't getting higher on my scale, then I don't worry. :)

Why are you weighing yourself at work? That seems very odd to me.

Last year we did a Biggest Loser contest here at work and used it. I work in a medical field so we have scales to give our patients to have in their homes. We kept one here. That is the white scale. Then when we had the contest another worker bought the black scale and left it here for us to use. We are all very close and don't mind weighing in front of each other.

^This. When in doubt the lower number always wins in my book! I also don't worry too much about my actual weight. I worry more about the change in weight on the same scale weighing myself everyday. :thumbsup2

This is like my son's math homework:lmao:

Don't put too much weight (pun intended) on what the scale says. Most are only going to be accurate to within a couple of pounds and weight fluctuates daily due to many things like how much water you have drunk and how full the bladder is. Weighing yourself everyday is like checking your 401K every day. Both are long term investments that will have small short term fluctuations so concentrate on the long term picture, not the short term.

The only scales I have any confidence in are the ones like they have at doctor's offices.

Sorry, I still think it's strange. I can understand weighing in front of everyone while doing a challenge but I don't understand continuing to do it after the challenge is over.

Does your scale match weights with either of the ones at work? I would use that one.

Try the ole FIVE POUND SUGAR or FLOUR bags ... buy one, put it on all the scales and see which of the scales are accurate to the weight of the sugar/flour bags! VIOLA, that is your scale to use! :thumbsup2

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU, OP!! :goodvibes
