I'm looking for a bathing suit for my 4 year old daughter that will last. It seems like she goes through 2 or 3 bathing suits every summer. They lose thier elastic and get all stretched out. Does anyone know of any good bathing suits that will last? Has anyone tried the suits from Lands End? I'm wondering it it's worth paying more to get a good one. Any ideas?

I buy Lads End bathing suits & I swear by them. I usually buy them online through their overstock link. I believe you can return anything to Lands End at anytime. If a bathing suit wears out sooner then you think it should I think you can return it.

ITA with the pp that lands end suits are great. My dd's love the tankiinis, they have the cover of a one peice but the convenience of a two peice! Ours often last more than one summer, in fact I have a few that that lasted so well they were passed down to my younger dd. They hold their shape and color very well.

I must also mention that my dd's swim just about everyday in the summer so the suits get lots of use.

Lands End here, too! Look in the Overstocks section, you can sometimes get them there cheaper. If I'm not sure on the sizing, I buy 2 and return the second at my local Sears so I don't have to pay return shipping.

I have to add another vote for Lands End. We also have had pretty good luck with Speedo suits that we've bought at Sams Club.

We spend a lot of time in the sun and water during the summer. Make sure you rinse out the chlorine every night. It helps A LOT for keeping the suits in good shape. HTH

Land's End here too. DD4 has the cutest tankini from Land's End...they have so many to choose from. My bathing suit is also from Land's End. Great selections and well made. If it doesn't fit you can return it at your local Sears. I returned one bathing suit before I found the one I have now and there was no problem at all.

Also love their water shoes...they're great for camp! For WDW we bring flip flops to walk to the pool but these would probably be fine for that too.

Have fun!

We swim almost daily in the summer, so I buy 3-4 bathing sutis for DD5. We have the best luck with Speedo which I have gotten at Sam's Club and TJ Maxx and they are reasonably priced, however the styles and patterns are limited. DD now wants more fashionable swimsuits! I have never tried Land's End for her, but I like them for myself. I have also had good luck with Target's Circo brand believe it or not. I do wash them after each use, but it helps them to last.

I second that! I'm thinking the mesh shoes with the sneaker bottoms will be good for WDW. My kiddos both love flip-flops but not for that much walking.

Just FYI, if you are using spray sunscreen on her you are probably contributing to the loss of stretch. The stuff destroys stretch if applied directly to the fabric; I've messed up suits that way.

If you use spray sunscreen, apply it before you put the suit on her -- it will help prolong the life of the suit. Also, shower at first with the suit ON to give it a good rinse before taking it off.

Those are the ones we have. They are great and easy to put on.

We also love Land's End swimsuits! DD7 and DD4 both like the tankini style, and some of DD7's are even nice enough at the end of the season to save for DD4. They like the convenience of the two-piece, and I like that their tummies are covered. They are great suits!

I won't buy anything but Lands End suits for my family. They are the only ones that I have found that keep their shape and color.

Ok, you all convinced me. I just ordered 2 tankinis from Lands End (3T and 4T - not sure on size). I can't wait to get them. DD is so excited. Thanks for the help!

Another vote for Lands End! Both for the DDs bathing suits and mine, too!

And if you have a Sears store nearby you can order on their instore computer and get free shipping plus you can make returns directly to the Sears store, too, and the refund goes back on your creditcard within 3 days.

Glad to hear such good reports on Lands End--I bought a couple for dd4 this year. We've actually had really good luck with several from Target over the past 2 years. A couple were hand-me-downs from a neighbor, and they are still in good enough shape that my younger dd will probably get to wear them, too. Haven't had such good experience with Speedo (from Costco) though. They fit my dd really well (she has a very tiny bottom & most ride up horribly), but sitting on the edge of the pool & climbing in and out just shred them.
