We are currently signed up for the Basic Dinning Plan ( which for me if more than enough food). However...DBF can pack away some food.

We plan on doing at least one if not two sig. dinning meals. As well as a couple days where we will want a TS in the morning as well as a TS for dinner. And perhaps even an appetizer occasionally.

My question is do you think we would be better off sticking to the basic plan (aprox. $46 dollars per night per person ) and just paying out of pocket once we run out of credits. Or would it be cheaper in the long run upgrading to the deluxe plan ( aprox. $70 per night per person) ?

First point: Although it has a certain amount of appeal, you have to figure that not only can the deluxe plan possibly give you more food than you can eat, it also takes a lot of time out of a day to have three table-service meals. I don't believe that, mathematically, it makes financial sense to use two dining credits for a signature restaurant. Makes more sense to pay for them out-of-pocket. The WDW Today podcast has looked at this subject several times and, IIRC, they consistently recommend against using the dining plan this way, and usually they recommend against the deluxe plan in general.

Second point: It is "diNing," not "diNNing." Sorry, but this must be stopped! ;)

Third: I really like your user name! :thumbsup2

Don't make the same mistake I have in the past (and so have others, I think) and think that if you have the basic dining plan, that's the only food you can buy. So you run out of credits but want more TS meals? Then buy them as needed! That would be a lot cheaper than paying an extra $24 per night in case you might want TS meals more often.

Or even better, don't do the dining plan at all. We don't like CS, so we just buy our own food... unless it's free dining. In that case, see above. :thumbsup2

:lmao: Your second point really cracked me up. I have an automatic spell checker on my computer... so I don't know how it didn't catch the mistake.

Thanks for the advice and the compliment... I will stick with the basic plan
