If I understand correctly, ADRs are not really reservations, more like call ahead seating? When you arrive, you are already on the list for a table? Your table isn't reserved, correct?

What is the longest you have had to wait at a restaurant where you had an ADR?

That's correct. You will get seated ahead of walk-ins.

As for how long, it really depends on the restaurant and the season. In peak season we once had to wait about 45 minutes at LTT. Other than that, we usually arrive a little early and are generally seated within 10-15 minutes.

And on busy nights, they stop taking walk-ups so everyone waiting has an ADR. We have waited a half hr. at LeCellier once, but it was record crowds. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

We never had to wait more than 10 minutes or so (except at the Coral Reef because we asked for a table by the tank ... we waited 25 minutes (not too bad :)) and worth it). A lot of times we walked right in. Other times, we were given the pager, went to find a seat and it would go off before we sat down. LOL! Sometimes, if we showed up a bit early, it would take 10 minutes or so. But, not usually a problem. Good luck!
