Base vs. Hopper

I had not thought of just upgrading the tickets there, that is an interesting idea.

We have always bought hoppers, but with a young child and grandpa along, I just think hopping every day would too much. Plus we are staying in a Villa this time, it would be nice to enjoy the resort. We are also going in August this time, we WILL be in the pool in the afternoons.

The thing is, the parks are open late this time of year, I was thinking we would have our fill on most days with just going to a park in the evening. But my wife most important thing this trip is getting on the Toy Story ride in DHS this time. Last year we only planned one day in DHS and missed the early opening, by the time we got there ALL of the fast passes were gone for the day. So the one morning I want to go is Monday early magic hour for DHS. Being our first full day there, I was thinking we would want to go to a park at night too. If we got the hopper I am guessing we would hop at least one more day, but to be honest I am kinda worried about the heat.

Thanks for all the opinions and advice. At this moment I think I may just buy 3 day base tickets and go from there.

We have tickets (the old, "non-expiring" kind) from 2004, each with one day remaining (it happens to be with park-hopping). Each trip since our 2004 trip, I have only purchased non-hopping/non-expiring tickets for the length of our stay. I bring along the old tickets every time....JUST IN CASE we might decide to hop one day during our stay. By doing this, we could use the old tickets as a "second park entry", and wouldn't be denied. Funny thing is, though, we haven't used the old tickets on any of our trips. We plan to NOT hop, and make our ADRs, etc. with that notion in mind. So, we'll bring our old tickets with us again....JUST IN CASE!
