Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the best bars in the Disney resort are? Whether they are in a park, or in DD, or in a resort, doesn't matter much...we are just looking to go out (at least) one of the nights and have a good time. I'm hoping for some suggestions that could substitute for the no longer existing Pleasure Island - more of a twenty something crowd and less of a family atmosphere. I assume that wherever we end up we will build up a pretty high bar tab, but if anyone has any suggestions on cheaper (if that's even possible) bars in the resort, that would be especially appreciated as well. In general, I'm partial to Irish Pubs, and I figure I'll end up at Raglan Road, but please give me any suggestions you may have. Thanks!

JELLY ROLLS!
it's on the boardwalk- 21 and up. i think it's a $10 cover and the dueling piano guys are really entertaining.Very fun- and bring some cash to request songs!

if you're looking for atmophere, go to jellyrolls. it's on the boardwalk. there's a $10 cover, and you get entertainment. the dueling pianos are awesome. they have nightly $9 big cup specials, plus regular bar stuff. much fun!

my other favorites:

tune in lounge - it's at mgm, connected to the 50's prime time. closes when the park does, but it's a lot of fun. sit on the left say and say hi to david from wisoconsin

tambu lounge - at the poly. lots of tropical fruity drinks. lapu lapu and backscratcher are among my favs here. this one will be open late. but it's a small area outside of ohana

hope that helps! have fun!

eta: also, if you have an annual pass, you can get the DDE card (now called tables in wonderland), which gets you 20% off at bars/lounges, but not jellyrolls

The Boardwalk area has several establishments...
ESPN Club, Big River Brew Pub, Atlantic Dance Hall, and at least one more that slips my memory.

Port Orleans Riverside and/or Port Orleans French Quarter has live entertainment. Someone else can provide details.

I seem to recall some people go from resort bar to resort bar in the monorail area...(GF, Poly, Contemporary, and boat to WL). I can't remember what they call it.

In Epcot, we always enjoy the Rose & Crown pub for the Irish Pub atmosphere.

At Disney...jelly rolls or Raglan Road for sure.

You could always grab a cab and head over to city walk.

As the pp mentioned, the bar in Port Orleans Riverside has a piano singer and is a fun place - we head over there even if we aren't staying there. It's easy to get there from dinner at DTD by boat.

It's been a while since we stayed in Port Orleans French Quarter but I seem to remember live music in the bar there as well.

Jellyrolls is a lot of fun too, as many have mentioned. The crowd there may be slightly more diverse, age-wise... haven't been in a while but looking forward to going back on the next trip.

You mentioned you didn't want "family" so I would not suggest Port Orleans Riverside with Bob the Piano Man (lots of kids). The CSR has a new lounge with live music after 9:00 p.m. -- The Rix.

The only way to get the DDE card is by having a season pass or being a Florida resident, right? That would be awesome, but I'm pretty sure I have no chance of getting one....

Sorry to hijack your thread, but does anyone know anything about the Atlantic Dance Hall? I remember seeing it last time I was there but everyone keeps talking about Jellyrolls so I don't know much about this other place. Let me know!

Atlantic Dance Hall is on the Boardwalk
next to Jellyrolls. It has a DJ and pop music.
The problem is that it's usually empty.
The last few times we poked our heads in
there were maybe 4 or 5 people in there.
I wish Disney would do something with it
like maybe become the new Adventurers Club:thumbsup2

BTW - Jellyrolls is lots of fun :cool1:

We love the Tambu Lounge at the Poly, awesome drinks and food!

Well...I guess I will be going to JellyRolls then, which is funny, because that's the one place my friend had said that we would have to go to anyway, so I guess it all worked out!

Atlantic Dance Hall used to be a lot of fun. They had free swing lessons every week, then afterwards they had a swing dance party. It used to get really packed, but that was probably 10 years ago.
