Bars at the GF?

DH's brother is meeting DH for drinks one night during our stay at the GF. Where would be a good place for them to get a couple of drinks while the kids and I hang out in the room or whatever?

In the main building of the GF, on the second level, is a very nice bar called Meizners (sp?). Sometimes there is a musical group playing just outside the lounge.

Narccossee's restaurant also has a bar, but that tends to be a bit crowded and noisy with people who are waiting for tables.

I agree, Mizners is an excellent choice. If they enjoy cigars they also have a selection of those available.

They could also hope on the monorail and have a cocktail over at the Contemporary, the Outer Rim is a nice little place for a drink.

The Contemporary and Meitzers sound great. DH said there was a bar where the band plays. I've just never noticed. Since I'm pregnant (baby no. 4), I probably won't go with the guys so the cigar thing might be fun for them. Thanks so much for the help. We are thinking of going to Boma's for dinner with DH's brother and then the guys can go out for awhile without the wife and kids!!

In that case another option might be for them to have a cocktail at Victoria Falls at the AKL while you take the kids and explore the savannahs and view the animals.

You guys are great. I never thought of that but we were just at Boma's in March and the bar was lovely.

As for the cigars, you can no longer smoke in Mizner's. This went into effect in July as a result of the Florida clean air act. It's a little puzzling, though, because as I understand the new law, if an establishment derives under a certain percentage of its revenue from food, smoking is still permitted. Since Mizner's doesn't serve food (you can order room service to be delivered), I think this was a Disney decision, not a legal one.
