we're going tomorrow night!!!! So excited. I wish there was a way to meet him. Have you ever heard of him doing meet and greets? Tell me about the concert.:hyper: :hyper: Did he pull anyone out of the audience or was it too big a crowd to do that?:teeth:

I would rather have needles stuck in my eyes before admitting I like him

poohtown, have you seen him before? He always pulls someone out during can't smile without you. If you are close enough make a sign. It was a great show. I almost wasnt able to go, but am so glad I did.
popdaddy, just because you don't want to admit it, doesnt mean you dont like him;)

I'm a closet fan. My dad used to listen to him in the car while driving me to and from swim practice and I got to know the songs on his old greatest hits album so they bring back warm fuzzies. I've never been to a concert or anything but I did buy some of his CD's, but I'll never admit that to anyone who knows me (they are for private consumption only!)

I have one or several of his albums.

As a kid in the 70's I was really into guitar rock. If there was a Boston concert nearby, I was there. Styx? My kind of band. Queen? Great stuff. A little Kansas, Triumph, ZZ Top, all great.

Oh, and Barry Manilow. Go figure.

Richard

My mother inlaw is a moderator on his fanclub board...she's a fanilow lol. her love for barry rivals mine for tim:teeth:

 Hi ya! Count me in as a Manilow fan! I have tickets to see him at the Palace on Oct 23rd!! I'm so excited! Unfortunately, we were only able to get seats about 5 rows from the back nose bleed section. :( But at least I'm going! I haven't been to a concert in years & I have to admit that I'm shocked at price of concert tickets. Plus parking is $15 ~ holy moley!!

I like Barry Manilow too. My taste in music is all over the place...fav is Springsteen, love Broadway show tunes...just all kinds of stuff!

Me too, Richard 'cept for ZZ Top! I also loved Dan Fogelberg and...can I come out and really admit it? {looks for hecklers} Okay, no one knows me! The Carpenters!

My youngest child's name is Mandy (no Amanda...Mandy just like the song!).

I like the piano arrangements. . .when I was in grade school, I liked him. There are still some songs I like, but I don't listen to him. I do, though, play the piano. And, his songs are in my repertoire.

Me too. I actually found out that my friend really paid 120.00:eek: more for the ticket then she actually told me it cost, and I thought I paid alot. She is really generous, but I almost didnt get to go (babsitting issues). Well. I think we were both glad that we didnt lose the money. It really is a great show. Enjoy

Where's CookieGVB? She's about the biggest Barry fan on the DIS. :)

DH and I were thinking about buying tix to his Nov 5 Dallas show, but now that we are going to Michigan to visit the relatives we can't afford them. Oh well.

We saw him on the Ultimate Manilow tour back in July of 02. He puts on a GREAT show.

DS loves "CopaCabana" and starts wiggling around every time he hears it. One of his favorite go-to-sleep songs is "Weekend in New England".

*gets back in her closet now cuz she's probably the only person out there who thinks Barry is dead sexy..mrrow!*

Have seen him in concert in every time he's toured..wouldn't miss it..especially this one since it's 'the last' time out for him!..got tickets for the 4'th...and cannot wait..third row center..whoo hoo!
Also got his new cd Manilow Scores which came out this past Tuesday!

I love Barry Manilow and have tickets for the 28th and also paid alot of $$ for them, but I didn't care. He has always given more than 110 percent to his shows and I feel well worth it...............:teeth:
Weekend in New England is my all time fav. of his. I was so mad at the last concert I saw of his and he didn't play it...:(

Hey POP DADDY aren't you the pres. of Barry's Fan Club;)

I am outta the closet on this one. I am a dork and still get goosebumps when I hear a Barry Manilow song.:)

Count me in as a one of the Barry Manilow fans and a member of the BMIFC - bumper sticker, pin, and all! Been a fan of his since the early 70s when he was the piano player for Bette Midler aka "The Divine Miss M" - paid $2 a ticket to get into Schaeffer Stadium in Central Park, NY to see them both! Have ticket prices gone up or what???

Unfortunately I will be on a road trip when he comes to town so I will miss him this year.:(

I was a big Manilow fan in the late 70s and early 80s. We spent my 30th birthday at Harvard Stadium in the pouring rain to see him perform. We tried to get his autograph in honor of the occasion but security wouldn't cooperate.

I still enjoy his music, just don't go to concerts much anymore.
