Bargaining for different PIN discount

Just rec'd my first PIN offer from WDW in about 3 years - it's for stays select dates in Oct., Nov., & Dec. Rates are 25-30% off depending on hotel & dates.

We are trying to plan a family trip for January - has anyone ever heard of calling to see if they'll give you the PIN rate on another date? I know these rates are usually really limited, but I figure if I'm still trying to go during a slow time (Jan - not a holiday weekend), then maybe I could get a discounted rate??? I kind of assume no, and I'll probably just have to see if there are any discounts out for the weekend we want to go.

Unfortunately, the PIN is only good for the dates indicated. Any discounts out now will be through the end of the year as it's still a little early for any promos to be out for 2013. With that said, January is usually a slow time, so your chance of getting some type of discount is probably pretty good.

I've gotten all kinds of PINs that I couldn't use because the dates didn't work for us. They are ONLY good for the dates specified. You'll just have to be patient and wait for the general public discount offers to come out (soon, I hope) or for another PIN that will work for you.

Is it really a PIN discount, or is the same as the public discount going on at the same time?

Btw, Jan room discounts should come out soon. Last year they came out on 10-5-11.

No need to wait for that PIN. It's exactly the same as the public room-only offering going on. I received the PIN and talked to a Disney agent because I didn't see the difference. He confirmed there isn't one.

It is a PIN offer--includes the specific code to use. But sounds like it is a widely offered discount.

You can find a lot of information on the discount codes and rates board at the top of this board, but it does seem like the last two years or so, pins that people report getting early do eventually become public discounts later.

I don't know whether it is accidental or not, it just seems to me to be fairly consistent.

The current offer for Fall is 15%-30% depending on hotel and dates. Max discount for values is 20%. If the min. discount with the OP's offer is 25%, it's a better offer.
