I know that BM matte foundation has been out for a while, but I've never tried it. I've only used the regular foundation.

For those of you that have tried the matte and regular foundations, which do you prefer? Is there anything that you don't like about the matte foundation?

TIA

I'm using it now. I like it better as it seems less "shiny" or "sparkly" or something. That's the onlydiffernce I can tell. To me it goes on the same way and everything.

Last time I needed foundation (which is only 2x per year with Bare Minerals!), I bought the matt because that's all they had in my shade at Sephora. I actually couldn't tell any difference at all? :confused3

I use the matte in Everyday Minerals and I can't tell any difference between it and the regular. I was hoping it would keep my forehead from looking shiny by the middle of the day but it doesn't. I still like it, I just wish I had ben able to tell a difference.

Brenda, that's good to know that it's not as shiny as the regular foundation.

I think I'm going to give it a try. :thumbsup2

I use the matte in the warmer weather, and the original in the winter when my skin tends to be a little dryer. There really isn't THAT much difference, and they are both great! :thumbsup2

Have you tried the intensive formula? It is designed for normal to oily skin and I've found that it does help cut down on the shine. Also, there is a product made by urban decay that you spray on your make-up to set it and they have a formula for oily skin as well.

I do NOT like the matte formula. It doesn't cover as well for me. Hard to blend or something.

Also, while you're at it, avoid the Mineral Veil with SPF. Yikes!!!

funny you should mention this - I bought a second "trial" box that has both included - so you can try them both out. I'm not sure, but I think the matte gives better coverage to my "mature" skin. I had very oily skin as a teenager and young adult years. I think that has kept my skin from being too dry now. I'm going to pay closer attention & see which is better.

Like the matte better-I think the coverage is a bit better and I don't need to touch up later in the day for shine.I also like that it has the rare mineral complex anti aging stuff in it(my regular didn't but I don't know if it does now)

I'm using it now, after 7 years of using the regular foundation. I don't like it because it isn't as shiny & as another pp said, it does not seem to blend or cover as well as the regular. I tried it because I thought I might be allergic to the bismuth in the regular foundation, but it doesn't seem to make a difference with the issue I was having so I guess I'm not allergic to it.

If you buy it at Sephora, they will take it back if you don't like it.

I have been using BM for a few years,I love it but this past year I have wanted to change it up...try something for my skin as I get older it seems more dry.I hate wearing make up at all thats why I used the BM because it felt more like I was not wearing anything.I just started using the new chanel make up, its a very thin smooth liquid mineral make up and it makes my skin glow! my skin has not looked like this in years....it gives you a kinda dewey look.

I like the Matte better. I think it covers better without the sparkle. I seem to use more though because it doesn't seem to spread as well...which is probably why it covers better for me. :confused3

Either way, love it. :lovestruc
