Bare Escentuals

i am 28 and love it have used it the last three years and converted all my brothers wives to it as well

I'm thinking of trying it out. Do you use the matte or regular? What about the mineral veil? What would I need to start out with?

I"m 47 and use it. I love it and have been using it exclusively for about 5 years now. I use the regular, not the matte. I haven't tried the matte yet. I use different mineral veil. Currently I use a tinted one but I usually use the regular one. I like to buy the kits, great value and I get a variety of colors and products. My 16 year old DD also uses it. So, I would say it is good for any age. Go to Sephora or BE store and get a make over. This way you can try it before you buy it. Good luck!

43 and I have been using it exclusively for about 6 years. I love this stuff. I started with a kit, still buy some kits now and again. I just replace my fav products in full size when I run out. I have just tried the matte and I like it, it is a perfect match for my skin tone and I goes on creamy smooth--just remember a little goes a long way and buff, tap, swirl as it really is the best way to apply these. Mineral veil is the finishing product, I do use it daily and I dare say wouldn't go without it. To start go into Ulta or Sephora or a BE shop as the PP said, get a makeover so you can try the products, then I'd suggest you start with the $60 kit unless the $20 mini is available. The $60 kit will last a good while and has all the basics to get started. I believe my first kit lasted almost 10 months. Because it comes with brushes it is a great deal.

I have been using it for about 5 years now. It is the only make up I use. It takes a little practice to use, but it's worth that. I just got the matte finish and really like it. I have oily skin and it really helps with the shine. The only thing is that I don't think the SPF is all that effective so i still where a sunscreen.

They have a Starter kit that's is a good deal. I believe it has foundation, warmth (which adds a little all over color), mineral veil, and some brushes. If you have a Sephora, Ulta, or Bare Essentials store nearby, they can give you a lesson on how to apply it.

I love the eye shadow colors and have bought many kits - it's a great way to get the brushes. The "pots" last a long time so while the initial cost may seem somewhat expensive, but in the long run, it's pretty economical.

My favorite BE product is the eyeshadow primer - it really keeps my eyeshadow in place all day ( I have oily eyelids so eye shadow rarely stays puts). The only down side is that the tube is pretty small - the need an economy size:)

BTW I store all my eyeshadows in a plastic beadbox which makes it really easy to keep straight. How do people store the bigger tubs?

I just started using it and love it. I was having a bump removed by a plastic surgeon and he suggested I try it because my skin was breaking out so much. It has made a world of difference as has changing my skin care cleaning products.

I love it!! Have been using it for 10 years now. QVC is a great place to start. They have awesome kits quite a few times a year as their Today's Special Value. They are always a good deal!! You can get lots of of other kits their too. They have a full size foundation with a brush as a good value to start with. Last month they had incredible Anniversary Prices where I got 3 times the size of things I always use (foundation, mineral veil, & bisque) at the price of what one would cost me.:thumbsup2
Not a fan of the new matte version. I also do not like the new sifter...can't get the top to open to get the end of the foundation out!::confused3

I love it. I switched to the matte foundation because I have an oily t-zone. I love the bisque concealer. I love that the foundation comes in shades light enough for my skin. I've been using it for 3 yrs and am very pleased. My only complaint is it's a lot to carry in my purse, even using trial sizes. I like to put on my makeup in the parking lot at work, lol. And it's messy to put on in the car.

I don't care for the eyeshadows.

I've tried the drugstore brands and like Revlon's mineral blush and foundation. I'm currently using maybelline's mineral veil in compact form for on the go, it's nowhere near as nice as the BM version.

sephora and ulta often have bonus trial sizes with purchase. I like them because you can refill the bottles.

BTW, I tried two different versions of the powder holder for the mineral veil and they stunk. the theory is they hold the powder and you brush it on. One worked ok but was humongous to carry. The other (the current one available) was impossible to get to work.

I just started using it again and love it. At first I would order off of QVC and it just never looked right so I would return the products. Last time we were in Florida I went to the BE store and had them help me pick a color of foundation. I also bought something to use under your eyes for dark circle, concealer , primer and lip glosses. I have a blush from MAC that I love and will probably never give up (as well as some eye shadow and other stuff).

I also bought some sort of skin care line at the BE store. It has been so hot that I haven't used it as I didn't want to sweat the products right off :)

I just started using it in May and I love it. I'm 40 and used Clinique foundation and compacts for probably 20 years. I was so sick of the liquid foundation and thought I'd at least try Bare Minerals. I really love it!I feel like the coverage is way better than foundation, but it feels like you aren't wearing any make up.

I am now using their lip gloss, eye liner and eye shadow!

I've been using BE for two or three years now and I love it. PP have recommended going to Ulta or Sephora, but I've discovered that the prices for BE are the same wherever you purchase it. So, I like to go to Nordstrom and get totally pampered. I had a free makeover when I started and they even offered to have me come back for a complimentary facial! Sometimes I just feel like being pampered a little and it doesn't cost any more than another store.

There is a BE outlet store in Williamsburg, Va. When I was there the basics were still full price (foundation, mineral veil) but the eyeshadows were on sale for a few dollars less. I assumed the eyeshadow colors were seasonal and they were moving last season's colors. The foundation stays the same.

Once you find a match in the foundation (and it lasts a while), watch for the sales! Sign up at www.bareescentuals.com to get newsletters, and you should automatically get notified of sales.

They just had one in June- everything in the stores and on the website were 20% off! And Sephora and ULTA do sales every so often for 20% off also. I usually will pick up a foundation backup at least!

And if you like the Buxom line- they were doing a '3 for $36' not too long ago (the beginning of July). I scored some and it worked out to Buy 2 get the 3rd one free.

I have the most sensitive skin and BE is the only thing that I can use. I have tried many expensive brands, etc and they all gave me reactions. The best place to start is QVC with the kits, etc or one of the BE stores. I have purchase at Sephora as well. Just stick with it after you use if for the few times. It takes a little to get use to since it is so different than other makeup.. but once you get used to it, it is amazing. My skin has improved.

I have been using it for 7 years. (I'm 26)

I think it is amazing. It has great coverage, and is so nice on the skin. I am lazy & always forget to wash my face before bed, but my skin never breaks out. I use the original formula.

I have also tried the Bronzer which I LOVE, as well as the shadows. I think the shadows are very nice, but I can buy drugstore mineral shadow for 1/2 the price, and it works just as well.

Love it - wouldn't live without it. Just made another co-worker a convert this week!

You can also find lots of brushes, miscellaneous items on eBay too. Once you go to BE, you will never go back!

I've been using it for about 5 years now (I'm 35) and I love it. I stopped breaking out completely. I started with a starter kit. The stuff lasts forever!

I used it for years, then last summer I tried Everyday Minerals and will never go back. EM is less expensive, and in my experience it wears longer. You can order free samples from the website (just pay shipping). It also does not contain bismuth oxychloride (sp?), which can cause irritation/breakouts.

My skin feels great...better than ever!
