Barcelona Hotels When to Book ?

We are on the May 31,2014 Med cruise with our son and his family.
Would like to book our hotel in Barcelona ASAP. Is it too early ?
Also, there are 8 of us, so guess we'll need 3 rooms. Any suggestion for a hotel on our near Las Ramblas ? Hoping to pay less than $350/ per room/ per night.

We are staying at Hotel Montecarlo, getting 2 doubles. We could book that one, but some others I was looking at, like Catalonia Catedral (I think) weren't open yet for any dates in 2014. I got tired of waiting so I booked MonteCarlo.

I stayed at Hotel Continental Barcelona right on La Ramblas and my friend who made all the reservations confirmed them a year ahead of time. The hotel is older but the staff is great. They have good security to prevent people walking up from La Ramblas into the hotel, they offer free internet, free food/drinks (including some alcohol) throughout the day but its mostly appetizers. The rooms are a little small (its an older building) and the room decorations are pink and I mean nearly everything is pink. Nevertheless the location was amazing.

I'll be heading to Barcelona for the WBTA in September 2014 and I've already made my hotel reserversations a month ago. Not the same hotel because I got a great rate at the Ritz Carlton.

We already booked our room in Barcelona for May 30, 2014. We are staying in Barcelona for one night after the EBTA before flying to Venice. I chose the Hotel Constanza. Great location and they have family rooms that accommodate 4. The price was under 300 Euro per night.

When going to Venice try the Hilton Stucky Molino on Guidecca, Mary and I stayed there in Apr 2014 and its great, the hotel has its own free water taxi to both San Marco and another island, it runs every 20 mins and till past midnight. The hotel is really good, excellent breakfast and bar area. The hotel is large for Venice and was an old spaghetti factory.

I know you like good accommodation, it's a nice place and very handy for all sights.

Any good recommendations for Barcelona hotels for four, good location and won't break the bank?

Hi!!! You are on our cruise! We are staying at the Hilton Barcelona. It's $143 after the cruise. We are staying 2 days after due to it being cheaper to stay until Monday and play around in Barcelona on Saturday and Sunday! We are also staying there before the cruise. It is 164 a night before. You will need to CALL, Disney wanted like 400$ for their Hilton..... It'd be great to have a fellow DISer in our hotel! Are you in our thread or on our Facebook page?

Stevie, thanks for the recommendation. We just finalized a short term apartment rental for our time in Venice.
