We just got back, and had our daughter's first professional haircut done at the Main Street barbershop. I say first, because the only hair cut she has had before was her dad cutting her bangs (for which I was furious at him! He knew I wanted her first haircut at MK). He sent me to the movies with DS and cut her bangs while we were gone.
Anyways, we had about an hour wait, which wasn't really too bad because the parade came by while we were waiting. We just stepped out onto the curb to watch.
Maura was the only one working while we were there.
My daughter was afraid that it would hurt, but Maura was great with her. Really put her at ease. They had a nice conversation during the haircut.
She cut about five inches off the back of Brenne's hair, bringing it just up to her shoulders. Maura then french-braided the sides, which I can't figure out how to do. It looked very cute.
Maura asked Brenne if she wanted any color in her hair (after asking me if it was okay. Of course I said yes.)
Brenne asked for pink, so Maura mixed it up in her hand and used a comb to apply it to her bangs, back of her hair and on top of the braids.
She then asked Brenne if she wanted pixie dust. Of course! Although Brenne was afraid she might fly away. We assured her that she wouldn't.
Maura pixie-dusted her, then turned her around so she could see her face in the mirror.
Maura said she wanted to see Brenne's reaction. She really was so sweet.
We paid her $12 and gave her a tip. Then I gave her a big hug! My baby looked so pretty.
Another woman in the shop asked if she could video Brenne because she looked so pretty, so we said sure.
Before we left the shop, Maura gave Brenne a huge roll of about 40 Mickey stickers.
My DS was jealous, so next trip it will be his turn to get pixie-dusted.
For the rest of the day, people fawned over Brenne. She was really treated like a princess.
