It is my understanding that transferred points can be banked. Is this correct?

Thanks! :cool1:

Yes- transferred points may be banked, but banked points cannot be transferred.

My DS is transferring points to us in Sept when hers post...but my UY is Feb....will I still be able to bank them 100%?
can I just make a May 07 ressie with them?
thanks

I am so confused on how this works, but at least I had a good experience with it. I had 9 points transferred to my account, but only needed 7. When I made my ressie, the CM said....."do you want to bank those 2 points?"
I have already banked my 50% for the year, and the points that were transferred to me were 2005 Dec YU....so I'm not sure what points I banked, but it sure shows on my account. I don't think I'd want to risk it with additional points though. :confused3

Yes, you should be able to either bank them or make a May reservation using those points- subject to normal reservation priorities. If the transferred points are from a 2006 Use Year, you will need to bank them for use in your 2007 Use Year since your Use year is February since they will be transferred into your 2006 Use Year.

Enjoy!

You should check with MS. However, my info suggests that not only will transferred points be bankable, they are outside the normal banking percentages and possibly not held to the banking deadlines as well.

This may be because (to my understanding) they do 'MANUAL' banking for transferred points, which if MS is busy will take 1 day, as only supervisors or back-room people can so this transfer, MS-Phone-Advisors cannot. Thus to insure banking limits and deadlines, an advisorwould have to do a lot of additional work, and want to 'catch' someone. This is not the usual CM mentality.

I had not thought of your point before, so this is purely a guess, not meant to be presented or taken as factual!

Thanks Tony. I understand how it's done. But more importantly, the rules do not deal with this issue and thus if DVC tried to be too stringent, they'd be outside the rules and not be able to defend. What I'm curious about now is HOW flexible they are in this area.
