I want to make a reservation for May 2014 at one of my home resorts so am within the booking window. I have 73 2013 points available but should I bank them into the next year before I make that 2014 reservation? My UY is Feb and banking deadline is Sept 30.

Another question is, if I do bank those 73 points now is that the only time I can bank points for the year? I am on a waitlist that if it comes through will save 49 points that will have to be banked. Can this be done?

Or should I just make that reservation with 2014 points and wait until the waitlist expires and make 1 banking transaction?

You can bank as many times as you want, as along as you are within your banking window so banking your 73 now won't prevent you from banking those other points if your waitlist fills.

If you know you are not using the 73, bank them now--you do need to do that since your May 2014 trip falls in your 2014 UY and in order to use 2013 points for that trip, they must be banked--so they are tied to the reservation.

Much easier to use them, then bank after you book, and having to call MS to ask them if they can reallocate the points.
