Yes but why? They don’t gain any interest. Wait as long as you can in case you decide to book anything current UY. However if booking a reservation in your next UY, bank over what you need for it.

There were 3 sister contracts that I could buy this summer; one was 100 pt and the other two were 103 and 110. I chose the 103 because my very first DVC contract was a 222 one. Adding that 103, left me with with a nice, tidy x75 on my final accumulated point total.
I had an April Riviera reservation cancelled. They were all April 2020 points. In May, I wanted to book Boardwalk for April 2021, my home resort. Rather than banking all my 2020 points, I just banked what I needed for the 2021 reservation. I wanted to leave the rest of the 2020 points unbanked because I was hoping to book Disneyland for the fall, I had a waitlist. We recently gave up on that reservation, so I banked the rest of my 2020. I want to change that April reservation to Riviera on the 17th (7 months), so I wanted all my points in the right year.
