Banking Question

We have been members for a while but rarely bank or borrow points. I have 172 points left from 2018 with an Oct UY. I plan to make a reservation for Dec 2019. Do I need to bank the 172 points before I attempt to make the reservation or will they automatically be used if I book online? I know any left will need to be banked and used by Oct 2020 but I just want to make sure I do not miss a step. Thanks

If you reserve online they will ask if you want to bank the points in the process while you complete the banking process the room is held in your name temporarily. At least that was my experience when I did it.

You can bank anytime prior to making the reservation or you'll have the option to bank when your making the reservation. You still have to select to bank as it won't be done automatically.
