Banking points

If my use year is September I have to use my points by August 31. I have 34 points that I have to bank now since I didn't use them this year yet (well I have until the end of April). IF I bank them do I have to use them by August 31, 2014 OR do I just have to book something before then? I want to use them in November 2014 if all goes according to plan. I couldn't find this on the DVC website as it keeps taking me back to the log in page. As always you guys are great and I know will help me with this. Thanks

If you have 34 points now that need to be banked by the end of April, those are Sept 2012 UY points. Once you bank them, they can be used for travel in your 2013 UY, which will run from 9/1/13 through 8/31/14. Therefore, you will not have those 34 points for a November 2014 trip.

If you don't see yourself using the 34 points between now and 8/31/14, you could try renting them using David's or you could try transferring them to another DVC member. Once you bank them, they cannot be transferred or borrowed.

You must use them by August 31, 2014.

Just remember: it's all about when your stay occurs, it has nothing to do with when you book that stay.
