If you use say 150 out of 200 points one year, can you bank a portion, in this case 50 points for the following year? or do you have to carry all of your points over for a year? Thanks.....
Yes, you can bank 50 of your 200 points. You could bank just 1 of your 200 points if you wanted to. As long as you are within your banking window. You can 100% of your points, then 50% then 25%. All depends on the banking window....I can't remember when the banking window goes down to 50%, I have an April Use year, and know that in I have till the end of January to bank 25% of my points, I have yet to be able to bank more than that....I tend to borrow....a lot!
Yes, you can bank fewer than full amount. In fact, there are certain deadlines that only allow you to bank smaller amounts. Using a February Use Year as an example. You get your points February 1. Up until July 31, you may bank 100%. Between August 1-October 31 you may only bank 50%, during the month of October you may bank 25% and from December 1-January 31 you may not bank any points.
And the 50% refers to 50% of your total pts, not 50% of the pts you are planning to bank. So, even if you had passed the banking window for 100% of your pts, it's not as though you've lost those pts.
