Banking Points Question

Looking for a Clarification on Banking Points . I have a June use Year called Member Services today and booked a reservation for April . I asked about banking the rest of the points I know once banked it can't be reversed I asked about using the banked points and I was told I can only use them for reservations after June 2021 . Just would like some input
if this is accurate. Thanks

If you have June 2020 points, they can be banked into the next use year on or before January 31, 2021. Once banked, they will be in the June 2021 use year that runs from June 1, 2021 to May 31, 2022 and can be used for a trip that takes place only in that use year. However, for any trip in the June 2021 use year you can make the reservation 11 months out and 7 for other resorts. The day you go online to make the reservation can be before the use year begins, e.g., for a Sep 8-15, 2021 trip, you could go online today and make the reservation using June 2021 points as your "current" use year points for that trip, any banked points from the June 2020 use year, and, if needed, borrow points from the June 2022 use year.

Thanks for this explanation! My wife and I are currently waiting on ROFR and for some reason I have had the hardest time wrapping my head around banking/booking/what points will be used and since our UY will also be June this example made it easy to understand.

So I just got another cancellation, for GC. I am February so past my move points ahead date. They said they will automatically roll up the 2021 points, but I have to use the 2020 before Jan 31, which of course is impossible. Is there a way around this

Do you own at VGC? If so, then it’s possible we will see some extensions going forward,

If not, call back and ask if you are eligible for late banking since the Points were in a canceled reservation from a closed resort,

They did do that for people beyond banking early on. However, they also said people should pay attention to banking deadlines so since WDW resorts have been open, they may not make any more exceptions for Those that own at one of those.
